Heat 1 Finish: 15* B4* 11x* 3 94 15s 17v 92
Heat 1 Notes: First start was awful as W. Johnson went around 2 rows of cars before the chalk line. Then the 2nd start Hafertepe Jr. didn't take off with Maier. No penalties issues of course. Hafertepe Jr. checked out and Baldaccini got by Maier early as well. Single file affair was a sign of things to come.
Heat 2 Starting Order:

Heat 2 Finish: 53* 77* 57x* 11* 7 12 76 99v
Heat 2 Notes: Dover checked out on the start as Vink held off Peters for a very nice 2nd place finish on a heavy track. Bakker was the real mover coming from 8th to 4th to avoid the B. Vogelaar went off the track in turn 3 coming to the checkers.
Heat 3 Starting Order:

Heat 3 Finish: 97* 6* 50z* 9N 40 5 94s 39
Heat 3 Notes: Chappell was all over Garner early and blew by him and then by Nygaard later on. Berryhill wasn't challenged, as the only excitement was the aforementioned Chappell. Boring heat.

Heat 4 Finish: 9* 7s* 23w* 9L 28 4J 99 13
Heat 4 Notes: Sides and Wright exchanged sliders for 2 straight laps in the corners finally bringing the VIP and everyone else to an awakened status. Winters followed them but had nothing for them. Huge cheer for the 23w not only from the VIP, but the crowd, during introductions. Blah heat after the sliders exchanged.
Heat 5 Starting Order:

Row 4
|

|
Heat 5 Finish: 18* 2D* 41* 8K 21 34tw 2
Heat 5 Notes: Bruce checked out early as the 34tw faded to the back quite quickly. Pittman and J. Johnson battled for a few laps before the "Ragin Cajun" showed him how to drive with 3 to go. He also picked off Hanssen after a late restart to get a transfer.
Heat Grades: D; outside of the excitement from Sides, Wright & J. Johnson, those could have been the worst heat races seen all year.

B Feature #1 Finish: 9N 40 5/ 3 4J 9L 17v 94s 13 12 76 2
B Feature #1 Notes: Nygaard & Peterson swap a few sliders on the first lap with Nygaard taking off for the consolation victory. Garner moved up to 2nd as well and wouldn't be challenged. Lutz decided to give Peterson a nasty slider that would have resulted in 2 junked cars if Peterson hadn't moved over for him. Sather was moving up but spun out on lap 4.

B Feature #2 Finish: 94 7 15s/ 21 99v 34tw 99 92 39 28 8K
B Feature #2 Notes: WoO winner Pittman had work to do or he was posting a tree stand for the A. Nick Smith had a helluva jump on the start and was battling Runge for the transfer and he got it when Runge dropped out with a sour engine with 3 to go. This put Pittman up to 4th and he couldn't even challenge Smith for the transfer sending Pittman to the Big Buddy treestand for the 360 A feature! W. Johnson was long gone with Meyer keeping up after a few laps.
B Features Grade: B+; pretty good excitement for the transfer spots especially with the WoO vet not making the show.

Initial start was good until the field came around to turn 3 when Hafertepe flew off the banking in turns 3 and 4 bringing out the caution. The caution flag flew from him, but can someone tell me why he got his original starting position back on the complete restart? Dumbest thing I've ever seen at a track. On the next restart Wright and Bruce battled throughout the entire lap with Bruce taking the lead at the tape at the completion of the 1st lap. Wright was running him down and was on his nerf bar when Dobesh hit a tire on lap 4 and went for a wild ride into and over the turn 4 chicken wire fence. He was caught up in it, the car catching fire as the fuel cell came off, but he got out in time and was in uninjured. A 20 minute cleanup ensued to fix the "fence" and to clear his mangled car from over the fence.
The restart saw Bruce leading Wright, Baldaccini, Berryhill, Hafertepe, and Dover. W. Johnson had worked his way up from 18th to 11th in those first 4 laps as well. The track was SUPER fast with lanes all over the track to run. Bruce shot off on the restart, mastered his way through traffic and led all 25 laps for the win. Hafertepe had challenged Wright with 8 to go, but never completed the pass as Wright hung on for 2nd.
J. Johnson put on one of the craziest, bonsai sliders the Report has ever seen when entering turn 3 on Jake Peters with 14 to go. Clean move and wow, it looked like they were going to wreck but didn't. Winters was very fun to watch as usual as he came up through the field, like he usually does. He was fast as hell at the end and just ran out of laps to pass J. Johnson.
Finish: 18 9 15 50z B4 53 97 41 23w 57x/ 7s 94 40 11x 9N 7 3 5 11 6/ 77 13 15s 2D
A Feature Grade: B+; even though the track was pretty narrow with not a lot of passing at the front, it was still very entertaining with lapped traffic and watching Winters work his way up to the front. This kid is the definition of "excitement" and the Report can't wait for Sunday to see him race again. Bruce was magnificent in lapped traffic as he held off the legend Wright the entire race.
Wertz Quote of the Night: 8:48 PM "Those Jason Johnson shirts actually look really sharp, but I don't want to break my 4 year streak of not buying a shirt at the track."
FOAW: Can go many numerous directions with this award. Chappell was pretty damn fast the entire night as was Bruce, even though if it wasn't for the open red, Wright would have brought home the W. Winters & J. Johnson get mentioned as well.
Crowd Pleasing Moment #1: The Jason Johnson slider on Jake Peters. Never seen anything that crazy in my life, especially that clean.
Crowd Pleasing Moment #2: Getting to listen to Pittman bitch about something in the W. Johnson pit after the races. Who knows what he was pissed about with Wayne, but it was funny listening to Pittman make a moron of himself as others were turning away chuckling at him.
WTF: Hafertepe causes the 1st caution by going over the embankment and gets his spot back. Everyone would like the reasonable explanation on this one, but its doubtful we'll be getting one. I guess its all about who you know and who you…. Well, you know.
I-90 Moment of the Night: They moved the program along pretty fast until the Dobesh wreck when they had to fix the fence. Nicely done tonight to the track that has been tarnished with a bad reputation
Mulligan Moment: To the cars that could have showed and decided to stay on the porch or sit in the stands to watch the racing action.
Head Scratcher: Daryn Pittman not making the A and having to watch it from the top of his trailer of turn 4, his treestand where ever he planted it, or his souveneir stand he had just in the entrance on the front stretch.
Thumbs Up: Great music played the whole night keeping the crowd entertained and even air-guitaring. Yah, that was you Wertz! Busted!
Thumbs Down: Too much moisture on the track, would have liked to see it slick off, but it was still good racing all around.
Prime Mover: Winters 16th to 9th, W. Johnson 18th to 12th, and Garner 19th to 13th get mentioned.
Trophy Queen Grade: N/A as the Report was off to the pits, may not have even been any.
Closing Stat of the Night: Looks like it was Bruce's 2nd career National tour win, as the first one came earlier this year on March 14th at Devils Bowl.
