New York, NY, 6/19/08 – This week's edition of the Knoxville Highlights features two drivers who had to drive hard and utilize late race opportunities for victory. Wayne Johnson made it two in a row in the 360 division. Unlike last week's romp over his fellow drivers, this week Wayne actually needed help from a caution.
Joe Beaver had the race in control until the late caution bunched the field. Wayne said in the post race interview he was looking forward to the ASCS event at the track on Friday night. The race along with King Doodlebug Midget race will be streamed LIVE on racenetwork.tv.
In the 410 Knoxville Cup division. Mark Dobmeier found the high groove to his liking and powered around Danny Lasoski in the closing laps to claim the victory. "The Dude" was temporarily slowed by two lap cars running side by side allowing Dobmeier to close. Dobmeier's hard driving charge through the field should not be missed. The Knoxville Cup 410 cars will be back in action this Saturday night along side the Knoxville Midget Nationals. Saturday night's event will also be aired LIVE for those interested in watching live sprint and midget action from Knoxville.
