Limited edition JPM music albums released to benefit American Cancer Society
Throughout the racing season, John Padjen Motorsports has been utilizing a custom soundtrack for their events at Placerville Speedway, Silver Dollar Speedway and both the Civil War and Golden State Challenge Sprint car campaigns. It all started with a single custom song back in March and now the efforts of bay area musicians Ron Pestana and Bill Bentley will be available to race fans and teams in the form of a 16 track album that will be available for purchase and will benefit charity.
Beginning this Saturday the official “John Padjen Motorsports Presents Ron Pestana and the Pit Crew” album produced by BMI Willahit Music will go on sale in limited quantities for just $10 at Placerville Speedway. Proceeds from the sale of the albums will benefit the American Cancer Society.
This professionally produced CD features a total of 16 songs all related to local auto racing and featuring a number of customized lyrics including references to all of John Padjen Motorsports’venues and a number of competitors. For the low price, the production is a great value and in the end its all for a great cause.
“We want to truly thank Ron Pestana and Bill Bentley for their time and efforts in this venture,” said Bill Sullivan, Director of Communications and Marketing for John Padjen Motorsports. “We have gotten a positive response from our fan base on the use of the custom music and have already pre-sold a number of them.”
Early in the season the long term plan was to produce an album that featured a number of tracks that were very personal and custom for the local racing scene. During the production of the final album it was decided that the proceeds from the project should benefit a good cause.
“These albums are an ideal marketing tool they are already being used in advertising, videos and other aspects of our marketing,” explained Sullivan. “This is not something we want to be making a profit on. We want people to be driving down the road and hearing things like “Placerville Speedway, its main event time,” and “Hey Powerfeed, how about an autograph.” It keeps our events fresh in their mind and creates a buzz about going to the races.”
Saturday a limited number of CD’s will go on sale in the gift shop of Placerville Speedway. Proceeds from each of the $10 albums will benefit the American Cancer Society, a local cause that Sullivan agrees is fit for the project.
“Cancer is something that has affected nearly all of us in the racing community, from those influtential in the sport to members of our own families, all of us have suffered loss from this terrible disease,” said Sullivan. “This is a great way to promote our sport and give to a great cause. Maybe one day if groups like ourselves keep doing things like this the research will pay off with a cure.”
The custom John Padjen Motorsports features Pestana’s newest rock song titled RaceDay Rock the well known title Dirt Track Racing along with a special edition of Fence Kids that is a tribute to Alan Padjen, flagman Ed Entz, Sullivan and David Robinson Jr. and can be appreciated by anyone who grew up at their local racetrack. Additional tunes include Golden State Challenge and Civil War versions of Crazy About Sprint Cars, Angel in Flames, a tribute to young lady racer Alissa Geving as well as Devil in your helmet, Gentelman Champion, Full Throttle, Victory Lane, Saturday Night Thunder, In the zone, Great White North and many more.
In addition to being on sale at Placerville Speedway, Pestana’s JPM Album will also be available for purchase at Silver Dollar Speedway and at select upcoming Civil War events. Fans in the Petaluma area can also purchase copies through featured driver Alissa Geving’s race team during events there or at A1A Performance Muffler and proceeds from those editions will also benefit the cancer society in honor of long time team supporter and family friend Roy Moss who is battling cancer.
