you didnt miss much, it sucked

The worst track I have ever seen at Knoxville and I have been coming here for 13 years and lived here for 4 1/2 years. Terrible.

My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race 
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss 
that ol' gal. 

How about some results? Who won?

I stayed home, attempted to listen to it on the internet, that didn't work well either.

I did have a nice nap and dreams of a passing race track however.

Justin Henderson won, Alley second, Zomer third, oops, failed to make weight, then Skip, I think. Lasoski didn't look like he passed a car. Wayne J started 20th and looked like he ended up around 11th or so. I don't have exact results

because I was just in the pits watching, not trying to get a blow by blow. No, Duane, if you were dreaming of a night of passing you were having a nightmare, just go back to sleep.

It sounded like the track was kinda funny, with the amounts of precip in the area lately, why the goofey track? too wet earlie? rubber late?, or am I wrong? I wasnt there, Im just steming off what I heard ,just curious what everyones opinion was?

rubber down in the B's. Had alot of wind all day, and I think they forgot to put a couple loads of water on it.

they didnt forget any water! are you kidding me 1 and 2 were like a mud hole completly soaked. it is the wind that really rubbered down the track. they were talking about taking the air grader out during the intermission but i guess they wanted to see a rubbered down track.

Remember that it is easier to alienate and lose a customer than it is to restore that same customer.

I forgot that someone said the winds were strong, which proubly helped contribute to a undesireable track ( well , if one didnt run good, I guess) Angel, your absolutly right, it seems its way to easy for individuals to drop patrons, racers ,track preperations what have you ,rather than restore service , Ive been told, patiance does help in racing ?

If I may ask what would you have done different with your version of track preparation? Not looking for a fight here, but you state a problem, so what is a possible solution.

Stating several years of experience with the racing and you did not recognize a wind and sun baked track is pretty much going to be kinda cruddy?

Vegas, Knoxville, Memphis, any number of other tracks across very different regions of the country and yet when it was sunshine with wind blowing for most part of the day and into the night, the racing was compromised.

I see windy conditions around 5 PM and have the foresight the track is not going to hold up. It is a crap shoot and the smart money says rubber-down, single-file-follow-the-leader even before I hand over a ticket.

Come on people you bitch because it's raining now you're bitching because the wind was blowing. At least we got to see some racing. This isn't a perfect world. They did the best they could with what they were giving. You could be sitting in Iraq in a fricking sand storm wishing you were in Iowa watching a sprint car race. Lighten up.

I didn't intend to accuse anyone of not doing a job or say it could have been done differently. It was the worst I

have seen it. Yes, it was from the 80 degree heat of the late afternoon, the strong winds all day, etc. I don't think anyone could have

done much to prevent it. If they would have stopped to redo the track middle of the night we would have all been there until past midnight like the outlaw show last year and then people would complain. Being in the pits involved with a driver, I saw how the drivers were reacting to the situation and they all stated how bad the track was. One stated to me, "May, slick, rubber down, Knoxville, wow!" The right rear of most of the top 10 drivers after the race was absolutely slick with not a sign of tread. I walked around and looked at them. Ryan Anderson's right rear was a slick. I don't bitch about the people that work to give us a great race track. I think Knoxville is the best place to be on a Saturday night, I only meant to state the obvious. It was a bad track to race on.

No matter how bad the track seems to be for most, someone always passes a bunch while everyone else sits in line. Even though Zomer was light he passed a bunch of cars at will until he moved to the bottom and Wayne Johnson passed quite a few.

Horrible track, how ever that was no ones fault as the wind was brutal and no cloud cover. We noticed the track would start turning gray with in minutes of the water truck dumping a load on it. I would like to have a lip balm concession today, my wife and mine were on fire as we drove home. On the positive side 80 degrees, cold beer and one of the greatest fields of 410's for a weekly show you'll ever see for 12 bucks !!

wind is no excuse. I have seen knoxville on a windier day, and had a much better racing surface than last night. We haven't seen a rubber down race track in Knoxville for a while. Last year for the outlaws, and they re worked it then. I think last night time trials was the worst times I had ever seen at Knoxville. Gee the wind must have only blown yesterday and not all of those other Saturdays. I am not gonna jump on the Dunkins case, but I am starting to lose respect for them. Actually problem might not even be the dunkins, I think it is there right hand man. The guy I am thinking of bitches and moans awww the season is too long, is a lot of hard work, awww , it is always so hot awwww. I think the Dunkins should recruit people that want to work on the track. That has a passion for it. That loves the sport of sprint car racing, someone that would have it in there heart to be out there all day, and actually do a good job, and be proud of it that night. I am 100% positive that the dunkins can still have a kick ass race track even if it is windy. I moved from out of state to Knoxville, maily for the races, and if they can no longer get it right on windy days, I simply won't go.

You obviously don't know jack about what wind, sun and low humidity does to dirt.

Rough night for the people paying the tire bills, but I was glad to see a race. Isn't part of being the best race team being the group that can figure out how to overcome the track conditions and the wind and win the race? I've seen the Wild Child pass on an Eldora track that everyone else pretended they couldn't. And if I'm not mistaken, the rework on the track during the Outlaws show last year wasn't at Knoxville's request, but because that "sports" network that specializes in one ball sports had a bunch of whiners with them that couldn't handle the dust (cough, cough). I sat in the top of the stands and took dirt in the face all night AND LOVED IT.

I come from watching Earl rework the Eldora surface 2 to 3 times in a night and have gone from whining when a track doesn't get reworked to appreciating it both ways. I would complain more for a dangerously rutted track not getting reworked than a dry, rubber-down track. Besides if these guys want to be the best and compete in the big leagues, learning to master a bad track is a good way to get there.

what you may have seen is a track designed by 24 people, none of whom have a clue what it takes to prep a race track.

The main difference I see between this generation and the past generation of Dunkins, is that Dick would listen to the two dozen experts in the office and prepare the track however he saw fit instead of yes sir and doing as the two dozen experts say.
