If you go to the big board under from the grandstands by Ron Rhodda he has the complete format for the 2008 Trophy Cup

Due to the extra main event laps, a yellow that appears once ten laps have been scored will become an open red for fuel only. If no yellow appears, after lap 35 an open red will be shown, again for fuel only.

What a joke. After 13.125 miles a red flag. Take off the midget tanks and put on a sprint tank and fill it up. Why can't they run the full race without a fuel stop. Sprint cars used to be able to run 100 lap races with out stopping for fuel. These red flags for fuel are just getting out of hand.

I think it should make for a great show, but I'd rather have the main event on Saturday night be the regular 40 laps. There are really no advantages in having it 50 laps, that's just too long. And with 50 laps, having to have a fuel stop just doesn't make sense. Hopefully as the race gets closer that will be looked at with consideration. :)

But other than that can't wait till October!

I personally really like it being 50 laps, I agree if it was done too often it would get old but for once a year its kinda neat.

I have an idea...right before the cars go out on the track, let's flip a coin to see if they will run clockwise or counter clockwise. Then we could have them run 10 laps, and the drivers could switch cars with one another. And then...if your birthday was within the last two months, you get five bonus points. Drivers picking the lineups? Scheduled fuel stops? There is a reason that the Trophy Cup is currently such a big and well-respected race. Please leave the format alone.

I like having it 50 laps, but, if they're gonna bake in a fuel stop, they might as well make it twin-25's and get it over with. No sense in planning a race that's longer than the cars can run on fuel. Having said that, fuel stops in a sprint car race do suck...

I don't know about the whole heat winners and the pick me thing,, how's that gonna work,,is there gonna be deals on the side he if you win pick me and I will do the same, and the guy they pick starts closer to the front ,,so do you wanna win or do you wanna be picked,,,,seems odd ,,the fifty laps would be fun if they had bigger cells for fuel,,but its gonna be a great time regardless

My two favorite things about this years trophy cup,,,,,its three nights and finally its gonna take place this has been needed in california for a long time,,"A SALUTE TO HK HOWARD KAEDING", lets hope for some past time paint schemes to show up on some cars,,

get balls and run the top!!!

To answer a few question:

as for the 50 laps sat. main there has never been a winner in total points to win the Sat. Main thats why we will try 50 laps. (as for the fuel stop how many races have you sent that go 35 non stop) For the Thurs. Main you will not put a better driver in front of you, your racing for points.(just to be a little different) For the 3 day show its not fair to split the field will the points they see diffent track each night. The reason for 3 days if you were there last year how many races were cut short.(to many laps had to be run on Friday, qualifying and heat and 4 mains) As for the cost I know no other 3 day format that you will see the quality of racing as at the trophy cup for the price. Plus 2 FREE meals if you purchase tickets in adavance. And last but not the least Make-A-Wish gets all the Money from the Sponsors and fan that donate in the raffle, cow pie bingo, and shirt sales. This the 15th year and we wanted to try something different. Last thing it will be a tribute to a driver and his family that have contributed so much to this sport. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE AND IT WILL TURN OUT TO BE THE BEST

Dave
