That's what the Volunteer Speedway website says. Anybody know what's going on?

Not that I'm a pessimist or anything, but something is smelling rotten. I drove down last year from Canada for the show, and I was quite impressed. They(Volunteer) must have made a fortune as the place was jammed. From there, last year, I drove up to Williams Grove, which always impresses me. So what is going on? Who knows? It sort of reminds me of a certain promoter, aka, Glenn Donnelly.

So now we have to wait a whole month for another WoO race.

I agree, Rogue 9. Perhaps some of those , with all due respect, southerners , will revolt and stay away from Bull's Gap. I'm shifting my plans to Lincoln and Williams Grove for that weekend, from here in snowy Canada. Always impressed the way those two tracks run there shows and all without backgate hobby stocks. True racing-no owners points field fillers, etc. etc......

I'd be showing up. High dollar teams need to make money, even though it is 3500 to win. That way the "low budget" teams can show them some real racing, without the time trial "blinders" WOO uses.

Take a gander at the official statement out of Charlotte. What a bunch of bull-perhaps that's why the track is located in Bulls Gap. What is the difference in speed between a late model and a sprint car-not that much, I know.

This is a bunch of junk,,my question is since all the teams just ran manzy why dont they make up the tulare thunderbowl races now and get caught up. there are no races scheduled in tulare until march 29,, well i guess there will be some heavy hitters in chico this weekend maybe,it will be a medium semi-gold cup, instead of a mini..i bet the stands would fill up in tulare even if they ran a week day show, even 1 night so we can see some outlaws and they can win some $
get balls and run the top!!!

I'm sure the Tulare fairboard and the promoters "who won't have the time to promote a reshedule" would have a lot to say. It shows you how fragile these relationships between the WoO and the local tracks really are. Especially in the early part of he season. I don't know the answer but it seems this is happening more and more. You have to remember that the WoO are guests to these facilities and must conform to their regulations and local government. Would be interesting to hear what the extenuating circumstances were in Tenn.

This is a bad deal for all the WoO racers. Something bad is going on w/ the Outlaws. i would not be surprised if something comes out in the news soon. They cancelled Tulare, CA on a Wednesday. Never rescheduled. Now this. Not racing till April, Whats up w/ that? I bet the big sponsor co's like Quaker State, Advanced Auto, Budweiser, Chevy, Armour All, etc are not happy about there sponsored cars not racing. I would say DIRT, INC has upset alot of track owners & promoters. Well tracks like in Central PA should like this. Lucas Wolfe home racing for a month. I hear through the racing rumours, that Joey Saldana & Darin Pitman are coming in to race.

Why would one source (track) say "cancelled due to extenuating circumstances" and the other (outlaws) say, "cancelled due to persistent witnry weather?" Sounds like the Outlaws are trying to cover something up to me. Its pretty hard to predict the forecast a week and a half from now, let alone the late models are still racing.

If is was related to the weather, why would they schedule a Late Model race in their place?

As someone who lives in an area where Late Models are the most popular class with the locals and the frost goes deep I can give an answer from our perspective. Up here in Minnesota and western Wisconsin we've had the coldest winter in many years without a lot of insulating snow cover. Consequently, when our tracks push the openers as early as possible in April and the frost hasn't come out of the ground tracks get very rough. Late Models have been known to break suspension parts from hitting the ruts that develop in spite of the best possible track preparation. That's just the way it is with frost, until it's out of the ground the clay is going to roll up.
A Late Model hits a frost hole and breaks an A frame. A Sprint hits a frost hole and they'd be untangling the car from the catch fence. Early season Sprint races can get ugly when the frost isn't out of the ground yet. I can't speak for Bull's Gap but up here we sometimes have big problems with early openers after cold lingering winters.
