Any ballpark figures on what the sponsors shell out to be a sponsor of a woo sprint? I heard that once Quaker State was bought out, they cut Kinser's checks but he still nets 7digits a year from them. Just wondering how much of corporate americas money ends up in woo sponsorship. thank you for your time

Several years ago when Danny Lasoski was driving for Tony Stewart they said the total of all the sponsors he had at the time, Bass Pro Shops, Old Spice, CocaCola, etc... was in excess of 3 million per year. Would think the Armor All deal is something pretty big as well.

Steve Kinser's Q deal is rumored to be around 1 million a year.

Just a thought, I would imagine Funny Car driver Tony Pedregon's sponsorship money from Q is much more than 1 mil.

t-ped ain't wheelin' no sprinter though! lol. i hate to say it but kasey and smoke may end up hurting sprint racing before they help it by outspending folks. nothing against tham, but if others can't keep up and the competition levels continue to separate, that may not be good. there are others out there on a fraction of that.

The worst thing that has happened to sprint car racing was the Slick 50 Series, when all the big sponsors (at the time) came on board because of the TV deal. I said it then and I still do that it forced the local small buck guy right out of the game. That was the start of the big haulers and big time sponsors, which probably made the WOO what it is today, but I still think it hurt sprint car racing in general. It sure isn't a working mans sport now like it was when I started.

How are they outspending? They own different teams in different series. All their sponsorship money isn't going into WoO. Every racing series has their upper tier. For that matter every major sport has it as well. It's all how you spend your money. Good driver's who dont tear their equipment up is a pretty good formula for success.

if you think that having two teams on the woo tour that have the resources to out spend the rest of the teams is not a bad scenario then you will never get it. i never said every dollar that they got from every sponsor got put into the woo pot. maybe i screwed up by trying to make my point by useing woo as an example. excuse the hell out of me. if you have two teams that have the ability to go bucks out then you either force the other teams into racing for third (or potentially 5th if they each end up with 2 good teams) or you force the cost of racing up by making the other guys try to keep up or you start loseing teams. money alone does not make a winning combination, we all know that, but combine talent with major funding and you have fomidable competition. again, if you don't understand the potential or refuse to acknowlage it, you are simply not being realistic.

If you have it, the amount it takes to win seems to be the going trend.
