Kellen Chadwick of Oakley was seriously injured last night in a crash in a modified race at Central Arizona Raceway. He is in surgery repair a artery in his neck that was cut by a broken vertebrae and they are going to have to fuse together the vertebrae in his neck . He is being fitted with a halo and the doctors are giving him a slim chance to ever walk again.

i talked with mike sargent who tells me he has been in contact with the family quite a bit. mike says he is being told things could go either way. i hope he is mistaken or that things turn favorable.

Kellen is in a medically induced coma right now. They are looking at doing part of the neck surgery on Thursday and doing the surgery on the front part of his neck on Friday or Saturday I believe.
