For those that were there, did anyone else notice that under the last yellow flag in Friday nights A main, Shuman tossed an object out of his car towards his crew?

Upon a visit to his pit afterwards, I learned that Shuman had started out the race with a bad power steering unit (kept losing fluid). Crew gave him a bottle of fluid to put in the car and under yellows, Shuman would pour some fluid in the unit!!! His tossing out the empty bottle towards his crew was the indicator he was out of fluid. He then ran the final laps without power steering!

He eventually lost the final transfer spot to Saturday nights A main. You got to hand it to the guy, first race of any kind in 10 years and he outran 59 other drivers in Fridays event.

Darland and K. Swindell sure get their props for their finishes from deep in the field, but for Shuman to do what he did without a tune up race after being gone for 10 years.......WOW!

Cant wait for tonights finale!!!!

I was watching the JackSlash show on race/net last night and they said that Ron thought the white flag was the checkered and that's why he dropped those spots on the last lap. I was not surprised at all about how well he did, just disappointed that a series of events and bad luck kept him from winning the thing, the whole thing.

GO SHOOEY! Doesn't surprise me that he did so well though, the guys a West Coast legend, and won an unbelievable 8 Turkey Night Grand Prix, including 4 in a row! ('79, '80, '81, '82, '84, '87, '92, and '93) Just goes to show that great drivers never forget how to wheel a car! I'm sure his determination to win something as prestigious as the Chili Bowl ranks at the top of his gotta win list! Tonight's gonna be great!!!:)

Are they sure? That does not sound right. Ronnie knows a white from a checkered, I believe he had problems. Sean.
