I miss visiting  with you too, Roger.   One of the big things about the Chili Bowl is all of the new friends you meet and make.  I just can't cope with all of the walking anymore.   Thank goodness for floracin so I can still watch.  I always search the stands to try to find my friends.

I'm down to only attending on the final night but with the dust and my age it's getting to be more difficult.  Good to hear from you.

I somewhat recall an article I read about Smiley and how he brought sensibility back to sprint car racing. If I remember correctly the article spoke of how he encouraged drivers to stay away from the track and don't miss important life events just to chase a low level sprint car championship. I believe the article spoke to how some promoters didn't want more than 20 cars at a race because they couldn't afford to pay them so that is what Smiley provided. Did I read this in Open Wheel? Getting older myself. Sorry to hear about  this loss. RIP sir.
