I'm happy to see Schatz on the tour again and confident he can compete for wins.
Looks like Crouch will still be in the HL Tour ride, with that team holding a charter / franchise / high roller club card? Unsure who is going to wrench for Brenham or how sponsorship will be split.
Obviously DS has a following of sponsors, and Brenham's father is apart of Hi Plains.
Regardless I'm happy to see DS and Brenham on the tour.

Wow. The Schatz news has hardly made a blip on this message board.
I wish DS well but if you look at CJB's record for the last 4 or 5 years it is not to good. And in my opinion CJB and Barry Jackson are a little bipolar. If you read what Barry has said every time the teams changes drivers it makes your head spin. He wanted rid of Gravel because he couldn't communicate with a young driver. So they got Shane Stewart because him and Barry were from the same generation. Then CJB got rid of Stewart because they needed a young gasser, and got Marks. Then while doing all the switching of drivers the team and Barry especially, wanted off the road. They did that for a year and then said " we need to be with a tour and on the road". So Marks left and in came Bayston and nothing and then Crouch. And remember last year Barry wanted off the road again and CJB was going to hire Tye Wolfgang. Now Barry is all gunho ready to be on the road with Donny.
All I keep hearing is crew help and parts and engines are hard to come by. How are they going to put this together in 45 days?
To me I thought to story on SprintCar Unlimited made it sound as if all 5 cars that were ready are now going to be Donny's. Because Barry said it was neat to see Donny's name on the cars. Earlier it was said that they had cars ready for Crouch.
It seems maybe Crouch is going to get the short end of the stick. His stuff will now be rushed to get cars and motors . He has to now work with the new crew chief and crew. Maybe Daddy wants a refund on the money he is spending.

Maybe you don't know what the CJB Crouch team has on hand or on order.

I doubt they need to start each team with 4 spares in Florida. They have more than 45 days to place the order and fill the shelves. Plus I doubt they signed the contract and then realized they have two teams after dropping the pen.
I'm glad Donny found a full-time ride. I've heard of CJB but not often from finishing well or doing the unexpected. If Donny couldn't win with TSR the odds do not increase with CJB imo.
But Donny knows what Donny wants. It's his decision. If he wants to spend one more year with less than 10 WoO wins, he has very right to join the tour and do what he likes. Maybe his expectations are not as high as Holder's.

As an old guy myself and very much set in my ways I feel like he and Barry Jackson are either going to click and get better than expected results or they clash and it will be a disaster. Nothing in between. I'm hoping for the first scenario and Donny contending for wins.
Didn't Barry Jackson build his own cars at one time? What chassis do they run now?

Yes they were called JEI. When Barry went on the road I believe the business was sold to Russ Mitten and was called RPM.

Schatz will run Maxim Chassis, Kistler Engines and FK Shocks. The same package as The JJR #41 and Carson Macedo.

Schatz is good for the series. A true veteran. In his long storied carrer many connections with fans and car owners as showed after the split. Still a contender to win.Wish him the best.

He is in a unique situation. He owns a jet and has a job at home. It's not like he has to endure the grind out on the road. He must really love what he does and isn't ready to give it up yet.

Also remember, Crouch is running HL. Their season doesn't start until the middle of March giving them a little more time. If Crouch needs to knock off some rust, he can just run his own equiptment (like he did this year at the end) late in February at some of the POWRI shows in Texas close to home
