Video of motel parking lot maintenance from the week of the 1987 Knoxville Nationals. If you geek out on 1980's sprint car history like I do this is incredible. Wolfie in short shorts, Davey Brown Sr., Fred Grenoble, big Bob watching like a hawk, firing up the car in said parking lot no helmet with a Ford Tempo rental car, it's got it all.

I'm guessing it's B-roll footage from the Hidden Heroes episode of the same week.

Very cool video. In those days, I was a scruffy, wolfgang, and doty fan.  It's stuff like this that made nationals week so awesome. Firing the car in the parking lot would get you a ticket nowadays.

The Wolf had some guns on him back then.

I was always a fan of the guys that wrenched on their stuff and knew what they were doing.

Great video. Cool to see Fred Grenoble the Brown's got all the credit and deservedly so but Fred was sometimes forgotten but was a big part of that incredible team.

Wolfgang will be regarded as one of the best. Bob Trostle said He was one of the best fabricators and welders He ever knew.
