First time at a dirt track? Never witnessed someone being DQ'd for a rule's infraction?  Before I go any farther though, I also think he's a tool---so that we agree on. 

  However, I seriously doubt they feel the need to "cheat."  It was made pretty clear by Mike Hess that this rule's infraction didn't aid in the performance of the car.  And he doubted he did it on purpose.  End of story for me.  I don't think there is a need for Larson, Gravel, Sweet, Rico, Day, and the list goes on, to purposely cheat.  Their cars are always going to be in the top-3 inspections, and they are already out-performing 95% of the field.  The Sweet scale incident?  I give no craps about that.  No way he was under the weight.  Why would he be?   He was likely 100 lbs heavy if anything.  Non-story for me.

If rules arent enforced you dont need a rulebook. They are one of the top 6 teams in sprint car racing and dont have to cheat to win. I would have liked them to have made A and seen if they could have became a contender. Too many yellows for destroyed race cars plus possible injuries for me. You race the racetrack but Eldora is a very clallenging foe.

Been to  thousands of races . I say its possible youve been to more than me, but not likely. Ive raced for 20 years and spectated many many many more. Its the way he said the things he said on that whole podcast that makes it what it is for me. DQ situation wouldnt be the same for anyone else

90% of his "we don't cheat" interview was nothing more than self exaltation, trash talking and slop so getting caught cheating didn't really discredit more than about 10% of his interview. Very unprofessional, also during the inspection at Eldora.

I know. My apologies, I was just being a smartass. I've seen hundreds of DQ's and most are from guys that aren't quite to the top. I don't think Jacobs and Gravel are cheating to win. Maybe they pushed the limits, and maybe it was an oversight.  Not the same to me as A-aron's chassis debacle or Cade Higday being caught doping tires last year--at least to me.  

 

We are in agreement though on Jacobs---he wouldn't be working for my organization, I can tell you that.  Also, if I got on a live podcast, and talked like that for an hour and a half, I would have been fired upon returning to work.  He did bring up some points I do agree with, but he doesn't carry himself like a professional, so it's hard to take him seriously.

The wing being farther forward might help more than you realize. It would be in cleaner air and it's down force would act on the car different than if it's back. Essentially have more leverage on the front.

I don't dislike Gravel as a person. Seems like a nice guy and is one of the best. However, Cody Jacob's behavior, attitude, and unprofessionalism makes me dislike that team greatly. I don't listen to Chaz and don't plan to.

Yes sir. At 100 mph i believe its around 270 pounds of downforce? Someone know the correct number? Ive scaled racecares and moving ballast 3/4 inch does alot to wheel weights in terms of what it will do for handling.

If you listen to Lanmans interview with Danny Lasoski, He was talking about things they could do make cars handle better and being able to move the front wing forward was one of the things he mentioned in the interview.
