I'm a huge 80-2000's wrestling fan.

Sid Vicious unfortunately lost his life to cancer this week.  He's from West Memphis and lived in Marion.  Has there ever been any account of him going to the dirt track races since he was a country guy away from the ring?

Maybe have a new memorial race at the Ditch ala the Iron Man 50.... Possibly the Vicious 51?

Tongue in cheek comments, but fun to think about... He was an awesome man when he wasn't terrifing the world on Saturday mornings and Monday nights!

I remember watching the TV match that ended Sid's career.  He jumped off the top rope and broke both bones in one leg with his boot keeping his leg attached to the ankle.

Met him randomly at a gym when I was in college. Saw him but did not want to approach him because had heard a few not so friendly things from other individuals but as luck would have it, I happened to be wearing an old Road Warriors/Legion of Doom shirt that day. He saw me and actually started talking to me and man talk about an awesome nice guy. I had heard through the rumor mill he took himself way too seriously but he did not seem that way at all. Very friendly, asked him about a couple guys in wrestling and he did not say a bad word about any of them. Nothing like the guy you saw on TV, complete gentle giant. I have a picture of he and I on some old flip phone that is probably in a shoe box in the closet somewhere.

I never did care for his or Johnny Rotten's style of music.
