Unfortunately I think we're back in a boring period of Nationals runs where basically the only thing stopping someone is part failures. Thinking King from 90-95, Schatz from 2006-15 and now Larson from 2021-onwards.

Kyle was expested to win now a few boo birds are present.Could he have won from 6th or 24th possibly from 6th not from 24th. I would bet if you asked Kyle if his win at Pevely was more fun He would agree. Schatz and Steve were in same league but I think the cars are more equal than when innovators like Karl and no weight limit..Jason Johnson,Bobby Allen Tim Schaffer wins were big at the time. Win once in awhile but dominate like Steve and Donny they find someone new.Corey Day and Sclezi were very good.

It is what it is you surely arent going to invert the top 8 in points on Saturday nights for starting positions in the A-main you have the most points you deserve to start up front!!

From both a fan and owner/driver,not in Sprint cars, perspective of over 60 years in the sport I prefer the center steer modifieds of the NE format. Top 3 in each heat, usually 12, all redraw for the main, meaning you can win your heat and still start 12th. The super stars in that division regularly win and it certainly makes the show more exciting. Racing, to us, always meant passing cars and, while it was nice to win from the pole, it was a helluva lot more fun to do it from mid to back of the pack. It was always obvious the spectators enjoyed it too. Of course we were always just your average Saturday night racers and certainly didn't make our living from the sport and I might think differently if it meant steak or beans on the table.

If you use inverts in the heat races, why aren't there passing points involved? Who earned his way into the feature more? The guy who won from the pole, or the guy who raced from 7th to finish 2nd?

The guy that starts 7th and gets 2nd starts tward the front from his time. The guy on the pole gets in the feature but is buried in the back and his point total isn't enough to lock in.

You're right. I guess I didn't look at it from that angle.
