Getting older, and a lot of guys hitting their primes. A little inside info for you: he's not going to get any younger and guys will continue to hit their primes

Not his age. Maybe too much on his mind (have no idea what that could be). Possibly they've gone as far as they could with the motor and going farther with motor setup/parts might do damage regularly. Just hope he can straighten whatever it is out for 2024. He brings fans to the track so need him. Reading Sammy's new book just out and a great read, first printing last March and like all books, this one, Wolfgang, Jimmy Sills (Life With Luke), Speedy Bill Smith's last book, Bob Trostle's (the best sprint car book) lots and lots of toting your own horn, but then what are they going to talk about but their career which includes lots of winning. I enjoyed all four books. Sammy quote on the young guns, "when I won that All Star race at Burlington in 2018, Cory Eliason held on for second and Carson Macedo ran third. Add their ages together and you get 48.. I was 62!!

One reason why the team is running so bad is because Ford pulled everything from the team. Ford is now with Rudeen and Zeb Wise.

This team is acting like it's the end of the road for this combination at least. Normally before an end of the season split, teams tend to perform below average. With the rumors of Schatz to Crouch, TSR to disband etc.... maybe that's what's happening here.

I heard that he has been focusing a lot on piloting and kicking around the idea of Red Bull Air Racing in a plane?

TSR disbanding??? Maybe, has Tony Stewart actually spread his millions and millions of dollars too thin what with running a funny car, a top fuel dragster and Tony himself running a top alcohol dragster at 21 events nationwide. Not cheap. He has also in the last couple years been co-sponsor of the Supercar Experience or whatever its called. With his star driver of the # 15 sprint car having an un-Schatz like year, maybe yes, he'll cut his spending a bit by leaving the WoO. I think he owns the All Star series as well. Even to make his practice runs in a top fuel dragster which plans have him in next year cost him and sponsors $10 to $15,000 a run. And we all know how expensive NASCAR is. We'll see.

Donny's life has changed with the loss of his father and running the family business. Hope to see him back with Shaver Chevys and a new team.

So the track prep expert is also a crew chief?
Have you ever set up or worked on a sprint car?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess the guy's never done any track prep work either. Just like countless other idiots on the internet who point out the obvious but offer no real solutions.

Well, let's see now. The FACTS: Schatz started on the outside front row and faded to 6th in just a couple laps. He then proceeded to pass Haudenschild, Brown, Scelzi, Sweet, and Gravel- at the white flag- to win his 4th WoO feature this year.
He is 6th in points right now, behind some younger racers. But, he is ahead of 339 other racers listed on the WoO 2023 points sheet.
The obvious conclusion we can draw from these FACTS is that you need to have your motor-mouth tuned up. It's not hitting on all 4 cylinders right now.
