Kudos to the track management for having the courage and gravitas to come up with an equitable solution for continuing the tradition of midget racing there...yet without impacting the high banks for divisions that are more suited for it.

Not sure, if I recall, XR Super Late Models last year were scheduled to run the highbanks and ended up running the small track.

The midgets on the little track didn't do much for me, very huggy pole-ish. But the SC cars looked really good on the big track, like oversized sprint cars out there. Pretty entertaining. Maybe USAC can find some more 'oversized' half miles for them to run on since the one mile tracks are going extinct.

Anyone saying that the midgets don't belong on the half mile obviously never saw them race there.  Watching the midgets on the half mile gave me goosebumps that I have never had at any other track

I personally thought midget racing on the High Banks was about as thrilling as it gets.

I also thought they were thrilling at Phoenix Int'l during the Copper World at PIR, to name a few.

It's the concern about chassis construction vs large track lengths.

If there is a worry about chassis and track lengths, they should also stop running midgets at Lawrenceburg and Eldora.
