It is Tuesday March 21.  I am making the trip from the Tuscon area, anyone else going to attend?

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

I might travel down from Reno, if the weather plays nice.

Why a non-points race?

Larson, Sweet, and Coby Copeland own this series, their invention so to say.  So for three California hot shoes it just makes sense to begin the series in Tulare. The series has two 50K to win races in their first year and are sure to be a big hit, mid week racing...

I can't disagree, but I wonder what's the point of having a non-points race to start off a series that must have a points fund?

I think they wanted to race in CA, but it is too far for most of the racers who are going to race the rest of the series. So, it is non points to not penalize those teams who can't travel that far.

This event has the makings of, "We're having this race because the WoO snubbed the west coast in the spring."  With the rest of the series taking place between PA and SD during the summer, the point fund isn't enough for most of the regulars to justify the travel expenses.  It doesn't make economic sense to ask the teams planning to run for the title to tow all the way to CA for a single race in March, which is likely more about a make-good for the CA teams and fans.
