This is a great book, just great. Only $29.31 with shipping.  Big hardcover  with jacket cover, and this writer really did his homework.  It covers everything I never heard as the media only printed a very tiny part of the story--really almost nothing. I remember so well the split and the players involved.  Lots of hatred among drivers, owners, crew staff, etc, lasted years and years and there is still animosity among some drivers/owners/crew staffs involved in this split.  I was a big CART fan and hated Tony George and USAC for a long long time. Hated with passion if there is such a thing.   Don't think about it much anymore. But this split did nothing but make NASCAR the big dog as well as making them rich--new tracks couldn't be built fast enough for the stock cars. CART had the money and the big name drivers but eventually Tony George/the Speedway eventualy won out.

Depending on your age, you might have zero or almost zero knowledge of the Indy car split, probably most on this forum.

Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

Yes, it is a great book.  There was a lot of stupidity on both sides and it is a miracle Indycar survived at all.

I have this book, I am about halfway thru it but haven't picked it back up to continue reading it since last summer.

Well, it ended up going back to being just another version of CART, and I am not sure that it was a good thing.  Of course the REAL split occurred when CART was created out of the ashes of the USAC Gold Crown series.
