I know there is a tire shortage and the teams know it so why didnt they consider the facts befote choosing what nights to run.

I BELEIVE ONLT 39 AND 19 RAN ALL FIVE RACES  some guys ran Friday and or Saturdat against a 40 car feild and  onlt got to run a heat and a B main 10 spots were left open on Sundat I can think of alot of teams that it would have made more sense to run.

What puzzels me is why a couple more non regular 410 tracks didn't try to have a one off 410 race last week also. They might want to give their schedules some thought. I don't know what Selinsgrove's purse structure but this paying the same as other 410 tracks to win and hotdog & a coke for second is not going to get you good car count.

If you don't like it, you can whine to the moderator. EVERY post Strawser makes is a political post. Complain about that.

Bug zapper alert.

This is the sprint car racing forum. There are plenty of other places online to post non-sprint car related posts.

Could you please take care of the guy that's calling me political names? There's got to be some rule about that. Thanks!

Serious question. I'm from the upper plains and have no info about PA tracks other than what I've read and seen on the internet and videos. I'm not much of a fan of the big tracks. I'm curious what makes you like Selinsgrove more than your other PA big tracks?

it seems like they've always had trouble with car counts even before economics got worse.  i've felt uneasy watching races there since ryan smith's top wing came off going into turn 1 and he almost flipped out of the track.  it was just about the worst place that could happen.  not really the track's fault...just a bad memory and shows what happens when things go wrong at those speeds.

i remember going to the "world series of dirt" a few years ago which doesn't exist anymore.  they had maybe 15 cars.  it was a sunday afternoon later in the year.  their dates don't always seem to be the greatest.  the last day of pa speedweek may not be ideal since some guys might be ready to pack it in if they've had a bad week.  nascar and touring guys from the all stars probably can't make it either.

otherwise it's a great track.  i like eating at the squeeze in up in sunbury beforehand.  beautiful drive up from central pa too.

Big wide track with blistering corner speeds, even the heat races there are pretty good. It's definately a big boys track.  I have heard the surface is abrasive, maybe another reason why some teams stay away. Many teams are points racers and can't afford to run everywhere right now.

I think I would need a measurement to claim any track is wider than any other as where you veiw them from can change the perception. One thing I do know is that they are all a little wider when Anthony Macri is on them.

Doug Wolfgang called Selinsgrove "the Knoxville of the east".

He would know.
