WoO just announced that Tanner Thorson hopes to compete as a rookie and run the full schedule in 2023 after running a 50 event schedule with the 19AZ this summer.

Now that the path from USAC to NASCAR has dried up for almost all, you'd have to be insane not to at least try winged sprints if you're a good driver who can find an owner. The purses are much better, there's more people in the stands so you can sell more t-shirts.
From an owner perspective the costs are alot higher i'm sure, but there's alot more prestige in winged racing.

Also, big congratulations to Thornson on his Chili Bowl victory. After all the NASCAR hype, the USAC guy came through. He set himself up with his amazing run through the scrambles then pulled it off with a perfect run in the A. Really great job and I'm looking forward to seeing his progress this year in Winged Car.
