so watching the races the last couple of nights, when the winner goes to the scale, there's a guy with a really long stick that he puts on top of the wing, looks like he's checking something at the back like a wicker bill or something. any body know?

I was curious about that as well. He seems to be moving too fast to be measuring something

That stick contains the tire sniffer.  How they use it is at the discretion of the series officials.  ;)

I would say it's to make sure the top of center section is completely flat and not bowing in the center for more downforse.

That stick measures the length of the wing, if the wing is flat and that the wicker bill is 2 inches or less.

that makes sense. I figured the dish and the wicker bill, but not the length of the wing. ty
