No, no matter what Port does in the future, please don’t go back. Nobody wants you at their facility. Period. End of story.

Hate to tell you but last night blew your theory. The track was faster early in the night but by feature time it was no or very little different than many other nights. The racing great last night but it has been on many nights when you think it can't be because of lap times early in the night.

Way to Go A. J.!! Hats off to a young up and coming driver from Western Pa. He continues to progress fast and has now added not only a significant win, but one against the Posse on their turf!

No one gives a shit if you go back or not. In fact, I'd prefer you didn't. I've never seen another fan who's more of a pain in the ass than you are. Just stay home and watch on the internet. It's best for all invovled.

And I thought this was a thread to congratulate AJ Flick on finally getting that big win at Port. But, even with that being in the subject line, it seems like I've read this thread before.

Glad to see AJ do well. In all honesty it has been a long time since a Western Pa driver was competative in Central Pa. His sponsorship from Red Robin has certainly helped and it made their marketing folks look brillant picking someone like AJ. As a result of his success, he is now getting a nice following of fans each week at Port Royal.

Since he started running Port almost regularly last year, his fan base grew. When he won the feature last year people went crazy. Now that he runs there every Saturday and is sitting third in the points, he's got a much larger base and people love him. I'm glad to see him doing so well, seems like a pretty good guy.

Yep....funny how that works with a few wins.....it is not uncommom now to see the grandstands @ Port Royal dotted with AJ Flick shirts among those with the Dewease, Wagner, Cisney, TJ Stutts, etc

You were mistaken. This thread is about something that happened at Port Royal so regardless of the posted subject, you can count on Strawser hijacking it and posting his usual idiotic diatribe about lap times and slip and slides. He still doesn't understand the concept of fact vs. opinion and despite being told many times, he still doesn't get the point that NO ONE here or anywhere else gives a rats ass what his opinion is. So the next time someone posts a thread containing the words "Port Royal" you can count on a repeat.

Agreed. He's really stepped up his game. One can argue that he's been one of the fastest cars at Port over the past month or 2 and if he didn't have such horrible luck, he'd have the finishes to prove it. He is a really good guy. It's nice to see him doing well. Hopefully some day, he can come the Central PA full time and do some more racing at Lincoln and Williams Grove. He could really become a major player in this area. He's definitely got the talent.

Third generation driver. His Grandfather, Pee Wee Flick was a legendary driver in western Pa. His Dad, Mark won many features on dirt and on asphalt. His Uncle Doug does much of the work on the car, he drove big block modifieds. This is a true racing family. A J started in stock cars and was going to follow in his Dad's footsteps racing a big block modified. They decided it would be less work to maintain a sprint car instead of tearing the body off a modified every week to do maintenance. The rest as they say is history.

Lol, this x 100 ^^^^^^^^^^. I wouldn't be surprised if winged is actually Strawser or one of his buddies, maybe a family member. He seems to always agree with Strawser. Coincidence....doubtful.

You won't meet a nicer guy than A.J. will always find time to talk. It will be interesting to see what direction the team goes down the road. He has the talent I don't think that is a issue . Being a family run team I believe they will keep doing what there doing.

As long as they keep producing racing like they have the last 3 weeks I could care less if the track is wet, slick, black, red, cushion or no cushion just keep doing what you're doing. The amount of fans in the stands every Saturday night tells you they're doing something right.

As have I my friend. I was born and raised three blocks from the speedway. I grew up in the pits, on the back my dad's truck and trailer. So I know a little about Port Royal. I've been going there for over 40 years as well and this is far from the worst track prep in those years. Is it perfect every night, hell no. No track is perfect every time a race is run, and that's a fact. But Port is doing a pretty good job of creating exciting racing, whether slick or wet. Now I can think of two things at Port that need to go but I won't get into that since that topic was previously deleted. :)

That's the thing with Port. They don't nail it every time. There's some Port homers who think they do but they don't. Most of the time they get it pretty good but when they don't, they still work with it throughout the night to keep it decent enough that it doesn't get locked down to a single groove. This past Saturday, they knocked it out of the park. It was perfect. I'm not a huge fan of the dry/black/slick/slow deal but at least at Port when it's that way, they still keep it good enough that it isn't a complete snoozer and sometimes, it still ends up being a great race despite the fact that the track isn't very good. That said, give me what we got this weekend anytime. That was great.
