Hard to believe Bacon can develop an 8 second plus lead to win. To be that much faster and walk away seems amazing. Not too much competition for him.

Only thing I can figure is that Brady probably has much more experience at Knoxville, seeing that he has run the wing car there

Kudos to Knoxville for making this event happen. I hope it'll continue grow and grow. I thought the turn out and car counts were good but expected more drivers from California to make the trip, but understand that some are likely running for points at their local tracks.
What are some of the purses that the USAC National series run for? I would love to see more wingless racing in Iowa, including midgets.
Bacon had the field coverd and was super smooth, he biked it a few times and could run high or low.
I was shocked that Sunshine, Grant, CJL didn't have anything for him.
Congrats to the Hoffman team.

USAC runs for peanuts. Total a main purse is around 22k, 5th pays $900.

USAC's normal payout is 5000 grand to win 500 hundred to start and yes what dsc1600 said it's 900 for 5th.

I beg to differ my friend! There is plenty of good competition for Bacon in USAC. Keep an eye on the upcoming Indiana Sprint Week. Windom, Grant, KTJ, Darland, Leary, TMez (and a few more I am forgetting), are all good cars and are capable of winnning races on any given night, especially on the Indiana bullrings.
If Ballou wasn't hurt and out, he'd be right there too.

Also have to factor in Bacon got out front and those behind him were battling each other for position, and how Bacon got thru traffic compared to the others.

And don't forget they subtract $100 if you are not a usac member.

True dat...most USAC races are run on 1/4 mile bullrings, Brady has more experience on half miles like Knoxvillde

Brady is 6th in USAC points & finished 6th last year. He is leading in wins tho, with 4. Two other guys have 2 wins each
He has more 1/2 mile experience, when they get back to Indiana bullrings, the other guys are every bit as good.
I prefer wingless cars on lil bullrings myself, more driver skill (I KNOW that can be debated, just my opinion!), more competitive. Whenever I go to Indiana for wingless races, i run into Pennsylavania guys who feel the same way...
