Old man winter wins again. Due to the snow cover and temperatures remaining below the freezing mark, Port Royal Speedway has cancelled the open practice session scheduled for Saturday, March 9th as well as the originally scheduled opener on Sunday, March 10th.
Weather permitting, speedway officials will attempt to schedule an open practice next week and all race teams should follow social media for any announcement regarding a makeup date.
Opening Day is now scheduled for Saturday, March 16th with a start time of 4:00pm. All gates will open at 1:00pm for the 2-division show of Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars and the River Valley Builders Super Late Models. The sprint car winner will take home $4,000 and the super late model winner will pocket $2,200.
Admission prices for the March 16th lid lifter are:
$17 Adult General Admission
$7 Student ages 12-18
FREE Ages 11 and under
$30 Pit Pass (All ages)
