16 year old Alissa Geving proved Saturday night that she can run with the best 360 drivers and be competitive. The night would be a learning curve for the young lady from Penngrove. Not having much experience on the dry track would give her problems early on but once she figured it out she did great. " I am used to Petaluma being smooth and hooked up. I have never really raced much on dry tracks. So it cost me in the beginning of the night but I feel I made up for it by the end." Alissa would be the 2nd to last car out for qualifying but managed to pull off ninth quick. That would put her 2nd row in her heat race. She would run 3rd until she started gaining on another car. " I tried to run the line I always use but I guess I didn't really realize how dry it was up there." Alissa would spin with 2 laps to go. " I should have just settled for the transfer spot but I guess those are the things you learn as a rookie" Alissa would then have to run the B for a shot at the A main. Starting 2nd row this time Alissa would settle for the transfer spot. She would finish 3rd making the transfer. Alissa would then start in the back of the A main after a few mishaps going back to the back twice we thought Alissa would give up. Then with about 10 laps to go Alissa found the right line on the track and stuck with it. " It was very bouncy on the bottom but I needed to go through it to find the moisture. Once I found that line my car worked so well. I think I actually settled down a little and it helped too." Alissa would make a few good passes and would come from 20th to a 7th place finish that impressed the whole team. " I felt bad because after the B main I blammed my crew for a bad car setup but I actually had a good car I just needed to learn how to drive it". A special thanks to Bud Kaeding for letting Alissa use his firesuit until Alissa gets a new one. A special thanks to Ed at Pit stop USA for paying the fuel bill for the night. And it was also very nice meeting Ron Rodda from Hoseheads who came over and spent time with Alissa. Thank you to the whole crew and all of Alissa's sponsors. Mostly to all the fans who come every week and support Alissa.
