Just a heads up for those that are not aware. If renting a car for the chili bowl, consider renting it off-site, meaning from one of the many locations for most rental companies, away from the airport. If you can get a ride or even rent a cab or use uber to an outside location, you can save a few hundred dollars. I just looked up rental cars for Tulsa on Travelocity and many are available for the chili bowl dates. Compacts available for a weekly rate of around $150 including taxes.

lol. Did anyone else think this thread was going to be about rich kids actually renting midgets to race for the Chili Bowl?
It took me until the 3rd sentence to figure out Cheroger was talking about Hertz or Avis. :)

I was wondering the same thing, but the issue is real. Flights from Denver to OKC are dirt cheap, but rental cars are crazy expensive in OKC. I'm gonna start driving from Denver today....
