The annual season opening at Silver Dollar Speedway, Chico, CA was with the usual Mini Gold Cup.  This was a WoO event for years but this year was co sanctioned by the King of the West series and the newly revived Northern Auto Racing Club (NARC).

Tonight, after all the rains NorCal has seen for weeks, saw a very fast track with only 18 410s showing up for $2,500 to win.  With $5,000 up tomorrow the field should be much larger..Here's the Main results- 1) Kyle Hirst in the Roth car 2) D. J. Netto 3) Sean Becker '16 track champ 4) Willy Croft 5) Michael Kofold 6) Mason Moore 7) Andy Forsberg 8) Sean Watts 9) Chase Madjic 10) Scott Parker 11) Bud Kaeding 12) Tanner Carrick 13) Michael Ing 14) Nathan Rolfe 15) Kenny Allen 16) Pat Harvey, Jr. 17) Heath Hall 18) Jake Wheeler.

The 3 heats were won by Hirst, Watts and Kofold.  Hope the weather holds for tomorrow as the forecast is calling for rain in the late evening.

Thanks for the update! Assuming Netto was in the 3C car it's nice to see that someone who is not only able to make it to the track but is also able to drive the car is behind the wheel. Nice looking top five - congrats! The way I understood it only tomorrow night's weather questionable show is a KOW / NARC event. At least that is how their Facebook page and the Silver Dollar Speedway schedule made it look.

threadkillller,  you're correct on all those items.  Weather is going to be the bugaboo for tonight....doesn't look good.  Since our class, street/super stocks , opens there next Friday I may just take the night off and head to Stockton for a hockey game tonight.

Correction on the car count.  There were actually 20 but Justyn Cox blew an engine in qualifying and another guy had engine problems and never ran a lap.  Still not great and few more than the weekly count is for about half the bucks.

Kofoid is 15 years old right? I think he was 14 last year if I remember correctly. Seems like the real deal from race reports and other stuff I've read, but I've never seen him live? Thoughts?

Yep, 15, maybe 16 and the kid can drive though I''m not fond of children that age in 410s.  That's just my $.02 for what little it's worth.

Rain wins over night 2. No reschedule.  Welcome to March racing in NorCal.
