Not sure if this is elsewhere on the 'net but there are prolly a few Hosers curious about the goings on in south Brandon last night.....
I believe there were 47 sprints on hand
Sprint A: Dobmeier, McCarl, Kaeding, Henderson, after them I think it was Loyet , Jeffrey. Balog?? Track was pretty good, Kaeding camne from 12th and Henderson 15th?? Zomer crashed into the 3rd turn wall about halfway thru while running 2nd.
Craig Hanisch won the street stocks on his 49th birthday.
Pretty good night at the races but again like the night before took WAY too long, ended up being a late night.

The good:
- All the upgrades look awesome! Real urinals in the bathroom, my wife might actually be willing to go now.
- 47 sprint cars
- The features were great, Dobmier came from 7th to win, Henderson came from tenth to 4th.
- better effort on track prep here then I've seen in the past. At least they tried having the push trucks and door bangers pack the track.
The bad:
- they started hot laps at 8
-Slow moving program, took too long to set lineups, intermission, etc
- the beer grader made an appearance, was hoping to never see that again. There was a wicked cushion halfway up the track so they had to.
- there are two awesome video boards but they are not being utilized to their potential. They had a video feed on one but half the screen was an advertisement so it was hard to see, at least go full screen for replays.the other one only had the top three positions during the race a on a huge screen.
All in all I had a good time. They have some stuff they need to improve on, I have a feeling that they will improve with time. That was a really late night but I think $30 was fair for that show. It's about on par with other entertainment options in Sioux Falls.

Had a great time at Badlands last night. Frenchy's post is pretty much spot on. The features were awesome when I saw the grader come out at 10:45 I wasn't thrilled but they had to all the features had tons of passing. One of my highlights of the night was watching Bickett come from 21st to 4th in the B. He made a pretty good charge in the A not sure his finish but im pretty sure it was top 15 after starting 24th. The track was fast it was a lot of fun to watch the great wheel men we have in this area. Id pay $30 for that type of racing without hesitation aweome job. The facilites are great the upgrades are top notch. I would love to see them utilize the video boards more. The replays would be nice full screen even in time trials I'd like to see the drivers info and lap time why they are on the track. They had a record crowd there last night and I didnt stand in line longer than 2 minutes for a beer. Yea they were $5 for a 12oz not great would like to see $5 for a 16oz but hey the guy put 10 million dollars into the track this year I get it hes gotta make some money back. The program was slow they struggled with getting lineups set to much down time but thats things that can be fixed and worked on pretty easy and i think they will get it figured out. I was home by 1 and saw a great night of racing I'm very pleased with my experience going to be a good summer.

It's a beer not a necessity. If it was bottled water I would agree. I like drinking more than most people but I don't have a problem with $5 beer because it will hopefully cut down the number of unruly drunks. Also you can't really get a taxi home from the track so should hopefully keep the drunks off the road. I would do the same thing if I ran the track.
