Thanks to Maddog for the invite--first trip to LaSalle Speedway.  Nice to see Larryitis again and meet Rob and sit around the fire after the races and share a few laughs!

As for the racing, couldn't have asked for a better opening night!  Perfect weather, great field of cars and great racing--not just for the 410's but for the support classes as well.  (and I don't say that often!)   LaSalle had a few timing glitches to work out but overall they did a fantastic job of moving the show along to the best of their ability.  Too bad the A wasn't about 2 laps longer--it was about to get a whole lot more interesting with Balog closing fast the last few laps!

Only complaint--those absolutely delicious curly fries (coated with 10w-40 motor oil) did not settle well the next morning.  Couldn't have been the 10 beers!

Oh--and robaltman wouldn't have liked the races at all--the bathrooms were not freshly remodeled.  Stay away from there Bob!  I will let you know when there is fresh tile on the floors and a men's room attendant.

If only the 'Hawks wouldn't have ruined the perfect weekend, eh Maddog?

Sounds like a great race between PPM, Balog, and Bayston.  It'll be fun to be able to see the 17B in action more often this season, with the IRA.

I agree 100% with your whole post.  Although I did not partake in the grandstand food.  The Hawks not only ruined the weekend, but it looks like they may make the summer a little less Hockeyish and more racey.  Totally bummed.  Glad you and Holtzman had a good time.

Balog has dominated here it's nice to see someone  step up. Nothing against him though.

The street stocks got a little streched out with all the extracarricular activity but entertaining.the Modifieds put on  a good race.

I'll be  back for the IRA &  MOWA show in August.

Hopefully the wind will be blowing

the other way.

Bring back Santa Fe, and LaSalle .
