With a 23 car field the ASCS Warrior Sprints ran in front of a good crowd for the 1st of a series of Summer races that will be run at the State Fair Speedway in Sedalia MO.

With three different leaders even though one lead change was the result of an on track accident their was still competition for positions thru out the field.

After the 30 lap Late Model race the track condition made passing a difficult chore for the wing 360 racers, tire wear was also a critical factor for racers to deal with.

Enjoy the ASCS Sprints at State fair Speedway.

I think we must have watched a different race, I applaud the effort to bring racing back and while it appeared a lot of effort had been put into working the track, it turned into a one lane freight train.  The only passing i saw was when a driver made an error and got out of the groove.

In the future, if they would like to widen the track for the features, i would suggest a grader and not more water and packing down the cushion.  No one even attempted to go to the high side in either feature because there was no cushion.

Anyways, glad to see racing back, I'll be back for the other 6 races I'm sure and I'm sure the promoter will figure out the track.

Any details on the Cornell flip? Video missed the beginning of it. Did he get squeezed into the wall?

That's typical for a winged day race. Downforce from the wings, wide tires, sun, wind, and multiple classes dry and wear the track out quickly. I used to love day races, but that was back in the day of no wings and narrower tires. The tracks still got dry slick, but were still usually racy. Hell, it's hard to get a track to hold out for a night winged race. It usually either has to be so heavy and narrow early on that the heats are crappy, or slicked over and taking rubber in the feature. I know there are exceptions, but that's the norm.

Good luck to State Fair Speedway. I hope they have a successful race season and return next year.

I believe Cornell got into it with a car he was trying to lap, the announcers opion was the lap car came down on him and he had no place to go. It would not be like Cornell to make a mistake and run into another car without some unusal circumstance.
