I agree with you on the working ( I also work for a living), I was just thinking Thursday because it does not seem to interfer with another fairly close track that is already running.

Sunday would be a good night, Stuart is far enough away and Mason City and Vinton are definately far enough away as not to be a problem to them.

And nothing says they have to sanction with IMCA, unless of course you would lose points from running a non sanctioned track.

But My point was if the fair board was serious about this - they let the person (Toby Kruse) with the best chance of pulling it off get away.

There's always an issue with any day but Friday or Saturday. For those of you that don't live in Iowa, the HS baseball and softball season is played during the summer months. So many of the same race fans that I see while covering Knoxville HS Baseball and Softball teams also have kids playing on those teams, and nearly every Thursday the teams are playing either in Knoxville or somewhere else. I know if I had a choice whether to watch a modified show or support my kids playing sports, there wouldn't be a choice, my butt would be at the baseball or softball game. I would support weeknight shows for the simple reason of bringing in fans of other forms of racing. Plus they could come a little earlier or come back to the sprint car show on Saturday, tour the HoF, and eat of some of the resturants. Something like this would be good for EVERYONE not just the race track.

i agree vande77. i dont think an every week thing will work i would say every 4 to 6 weeks. on a sunday no other night would really work. they do this they will get the cars and those cars will bring enough money to help recoup the losses of the racetrack. every week would be cool but i dont see that working in the present economy with the way car counts are everywhere in the country

rumor has it that the knoxville raceway fairboard is not hiring a new GM and will allow john mccoy and brian stickel to take over Toby Kruse's responsbilities... love it and hate it.. looks like it will stay this way for the upcoming season and then we will see what happen.
