The only thing that matters from this point on is simply two words and I don't mean 'No Rain'.  The whole weekend will be determined by these two words.  Anybody guess what these words are?????

GREEN FLAG! that would be my guess.....:)

Terrific lineup, wish i could go... looks like its either a quick Lotto win or Speedshift for me

Didn't this thread start with somebody worrying abour car count??????

Besides the obvious big guns, my dark horse pick is Craig Mintz. Saw him at Attica a while back & was very impressed

I think this event was on the calender before either the WoO or All Stars had their schedules out. And I think the All Stars have that date open, the WoO chose not to. That's fine with me. I'd just as soon see someone other than an Outlaw have a chance at the big bucks for a change. As for McCarl, Madsen and Brown, I doubt any of those three are really interested in the points at Knoxville, so unless sponsor commitments prevent them from entering, I expect they will be there. As for the top PA guys, not surprising if only a couple or so show up, although I do think there are several that could make a good run at the best paying positions.

correct me if im wrong but heard some of the Nosa guys are coming, from the frozen north dakota

I wouldn't know about that. I do think though that there are at least fifteen starting positions up for grabs to about anybody beyond what would be considered the "favorites". And there's usually a favorite or two that have problems at big events. So I won't be surprised by anybody that pulls to that event, knowing that the WoO guys are absent.

I was excited to see that being from Ohio. That's what makes this event so special to me is I get to see guys from Central PA, NOSA, Cali guys people I never really expected to get to see race. I was really surprised seeing Pierce/Adams coming as It doesn't seem like that group really strays far from home often.

The 2 words that will determine the whole weekend, TRACK PREP!  There are lots of good cars and drivers but they need a surface to do their thing.  Being an Oho track a good idea would be to have Gene Frankart involved somehow, consulting, preparing or whatever, he is a master at this very important skill, just my .02......

In Canada .02$ gets round down to nothing. Lol. You better start sharing .03$ so we Canadians can put some value in your statements.

I'm just posting for laughter. Enjoy your posts as much as the others with the exception of a few.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Im glad you didn't mean "No Rain", I was trying to figure out what a Blind Melon song had to do with a 410 race in Ohio.

I've got to think this will happen.  Too big of a race for him to not be there.

Tony has not registered for the race and I really dont expect him too. He hasn't really done significantly well in the 410 since he's came back to dirt. Running with the USCS 360s he's done well.

Yes, the Race is On Speed Shift Tv...

Also, the biggest news, Tim Shaffer is running the 100k Mansfield Show...

I'm not new to forums, but I ownly posted a couple times here and I can't post a simple copy & paste link here to it... It's saying it doesn't support my browser... I'm using google chrome for Christ sakes...

Does anyone have the video of Rico, Spencer, and Carson duking it out last year at Mansfield?  It was the day after the kings royal if i remember right?

Why would any driver who enters the Nationals want to enter this race?

1)Knoxville Nationals has a $554,000 A Main which pays $10,000 to start, plus another $450,000 distributed over 3 other days of racing.  The A Main for this event is $200,500, with starting money of only $2,000.  That is a big difference.  While I get why everyone likes what he is doing, much like the Gateway event, there isn't enough compensation in the rest of this program to make it worth a team to leave their home area to run at Mansfield, which brings up point 2.  Gateway works because there is no competition in December, but by this date in April all the other tracks and series are up an running.

2)Race teams all have sponsors, and those sponsors pay to see their teams at Knoxville, and Lincoln etc.  The number of "national" teams is pretty limited that aren't running the Outlaws.  Sponsors expect to see their teams at Knoxville and Lincoln.  Which gets me to point 3.

3)If he really wants this to be a national event like it is being billed, he needs to move the date to September, or realistically the week after the National Open.  That would be a time where you could draw all the cars from Knoxville and PA.

The Knoxville Nationals is a special event that works because it pays gobs of money.  If you want to see a feild at Mansfield similar to Knoxville, then put up a $1,000,000 purse.  Chuck Brennan tried the same deal at Husets and got a limited field, and Tod Quiring is putting up close to $300,000 (plus paying the Outlaw ransome) to make the Jackson Nationals a premier event.

I think that is the point slide guy, it's not Knoxville...

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...
