Larson is a big, brave man when he is in the protection of his racecar.  He will "move" or wreck anyone.  However, he is quite the runner when confronted outside a racecare for his actions.  His running from Bubba Wallace was hysterical.

these things happen, NASCAR handled it, no use in us of getting to worked up about it

Many months ago when the dope-a-rope deal happened, I read that the government spent more than a $150,000 investigating that goofy complaint. I would have guessed the dollar amount would have been at least double that figure, flying all those federal employees in, staying at $250 a nite hotel rooms, federal per diem which you can guess at that daily cost,  to investigate when a telephone call would have taken care of it.   To make it look like the Nascar garage wanted to hang him---my God, wake up Bub.  But he did get that "rain win".

Just think that money spent on that investigation would not pay for a good golf outing between 2017 and 2021.

You not to bright or something?  Larson never touched him.  Bubba took himself out.  Bubba then decided to wreck larson at 190mph.  Then left his car and crossed a active track,  Then shoved Larson,  Refused transport to the care center and then shoved a official.   Than lied thru his teeth in his interviews.

Im with Earnhardt and Petty,  Should have been gone for rest of the year.

It does seem that Wendall Scott drove in a much more racist time and was accepted with much less drama. I wonder why that was.

You answered your own question

Wendell probably felt lucky to survive back then

People expect more in 2022

I MIGHT have seen Wendell race dirt track modified "jalopies" back in the early 60s at Eastside Speedway in Waynesboro, Va. I know he raced there,  & I have vague memories of a "colored" driver showing up once... long time ago, not sure

The FBI has spent big $$$ on dumber investigations, like the rock'n roll classic "Louie Louie" back in 1963.... 31 months??? I wonder what they spent on that.... converted to 2022 dollars?

"The following month an outraged parent wrote to Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy alleging that the lyrics of "Louie Louie" were obscene, saying, "The lyrics are so filthy that I can-not [sic] enclose them in this letter."[294][295] The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the complaint,[296] and looked into the various rumors of "real lyrics" that were circulating among teenagers.[297] In June 1965, the FBI laboratory obtained a copy of the Kingsmen recording and, after 31 months of investigation, concluded that it could not be interpreted, that it was unintelligible at any speed"

Interesting.   I guess I never really paid that much attention to the lyrics, other than a little of the chorus.    Now I gotta go check it out...

I know the answer to the question. Most reasonable people know the answer. Only people who bring race into almost every discussion don't know it. I will help you out. The fact is that if you work hard at what you do for a living and behave like a normal human being no matter where you come from or what race you are the vast majority of people will accept and respect you. That is what Wendell did.

Wendall Scott went along with the racism and said yes sir and no sir to white folks so he was considered acceptable. That was how black folks were accepted back then. Also, back then NASCAR was racing and not a show where they actively promote good guys versus bad guys.

i figured there would be a topic about this since bubba wallace was involved.  i wasn't disappointed...although i'm glad to see the first post put some blame on larson.  there's been nonsense going on like this all year in nascar but it invovled the black guy so people from the dirt world who pretended not to care about "nascrap" like kevin swindell are jumping in with their opinion on twitter.  he said something like bubba didn't earn his ride.  he must have missed bubba's win this year...or all the other no name white drivers in nascar like the dillon brothers who REALLY did nothing to earn their rides.

i'm not defending what bubba did.  it's a bad look to be honest.  true colors come out though when you're not upset with other people who do similar things.

larson has been hard to figure out this year.  he's made some pretty baffling mistakes like what happened today, hitting the wall randomly at the roval, and apparently just missing turn 1 at the indy road course.  his team hasn't done him any favors.  chase elliott always whines when he gets raced hard and larson ends up having to apologize.  the appeal of the byron suspension inadvertently knocked larson out of the playoffs.  i can see a day in the not too distant future where he decides the "nascrap" isn't worth putting up with any more.

He wrecks people on pit road as well.

One has to wonder what some did in their past to they feel a need to atone for that they feel need to now call eveyone they disagree with now a racist to make up for it. But is this discussion any different than discussing politics on here. You are by the way king of saying "No Politics!". By the way I did say that Wendell was respected during a much more racist time.

I'm not saying anyone has to atone for anything. I'm just pointing out that your statement "no matter where you come from or what race you are the vast majority of people will accept and respect you" isn't necessarily true.

Race has been a part of this discussion from the start. I didn't bring it up, & yes, it has political aspects...

Notice that i've been pretty much siding with Larson on this?

Not at all, I understand your point, but its irrelevant. I never said anything about "atoning", nor did i call anyone racist. You're arguing about something I never said. All I'm saying is that  "no matter where you come from or what race you are the vast majority of people will MAY OR MAY NOT accept and respect you"

True or false?
