I really doubt Tony, Kasey, or Kyle spend anymore personal money on their race teams than any owner, it could easily be less.  What those guys have the power to do that your average owner doesn't, is be a face or spokesperson for a a sponsor.  When sponsorship is down, they cut back, if they have it, they run the cars.  As a fan from PA, I do find it ironic that a KKR team driven by Cody Darrah (who had the best family ride in the business when he was here) probably won't be able to run the full season, while the 1a and the 1s keep tooling around the country making it happen.  Hell, they even ran the AZ races and gave out one of their motors for a night to another driver in need.

They lent out a motor because Bobby Allen is nothing but a first class guy!  It is amazing how many years he has spent in the business with so few negatives ever spoken or enemies made, tells a big story right there.  Best go-kart track owner in Sprint Car history too, lol.  Actually, best go kart racer in sprint history as well, I think he won the worlds a very long time ago.  On top of all that he loved looking at photos, always stopped and looked at my booth, I got a kick out of that.....

Bobby and his team are some of the greatest people in the pits the main reason he loaned the motor to Ryan in Arizona is because Ryan's crew chief Jeremy Bitner loaned the shark team a motor a couple different times to help them out and is still pretty close to the shark team

I've been told by plenty of old timers in the area that the reason Bobby Allen doesn't have KKR/TSR money was because he was too nice a guy to patent and sell his ideas, he offered them up (not a shot at TSR/KKR, just a lot of people think Bobby Allen was worth a lot more than he thought he was when it came to innovating and building).  It's awesome they're on tour.  Obviously KKR and Shark Racing are two different situations, but earlier people were talking about Cody's team running the engines a little safer, etc.. for longevity at Volusia.  I get that if it was Shark Racing, if true, it makes zero sense to me in Cody's situation.  You know who's going to be at Volusia, why even bother bringing a knife to a gun fight if your not running for points?  Hopefully that's just a rumor, Cody needs the fastest car he can find if he wants to stay relevant.  If not, just come back to PA and relearn ;)
