VKracer, I think your explanation of the DLM rear suspensions helps explain my original point that experience piloting a DLM will not provide any benefit when getting behind the wheel of a NASCAR truck.

Since we do not know what tire Goodyear will bring to Eldora for the trucks we can only make guesses. My guess is that the tire will be harder and stiffer than the tires they used to supply the dirt late models....something that was already stiffer and more conservative than the Hoosier LM tire currently popular with most LM sanctions.....kind of like the G60 is already.

My apologies, I did not realize that IMCA had opened up their shock rules for mods to allow the adjustable nitrogen canister $4000/set shock packages currently popular in open late model racing.

Now i will apologize for misunderstanding you on the shock part of the deal. That being said IMCA drivers (the fast ones and the ones with money, but may lack on talent) dont have the adjustable shocks which are illegal. We all go out and buy shocks from a shock expert that aren't out of the box shocks. We basically pay $300 or more per shock depending on brand to have our shocks revalved to make up for the fact we can run double adjustable shocks or cannister shocks. I have seen guys with enough shocks to fill the wall of a semi trailer to make up for that. That $4000 a set would be cheap compared to what some spend. Granted i got mine for free and many of the others get theirs free too, but then we spend the time and money to send them to our shock guys to once again try to have every possible combination we can. As for the tire hopefully they wont explode. I would guess they will put them on the hard goodyear just due to the fact that those guys don't or haven't been taught the throttle control for the dryslick like some of the guys with dirt backgrounds have. Granted they are all talented it does take time to learn. Thats probably why Matt Crafton was in Arizona driving a Mod, and Brendan Gaughn will be in Florida driving a mod down there. Hopefully it will be a good race or I can see Nascar taking it back off dirt. Which in my opinion would be a travesty.

An interesting tidbit from SpeedTV regarding the event...

The race format has not been determined, but Slack said the race evening will unfold in much the same fashion as other Eldora events – with qualifying, heat races and a feature. There will not be traditional pit stops.
