If Danica beats him in a race this year and she will then please with the King Larson

If someone wrecks Kyle or he has mechanical problems the above MIGHT happen.  Otherwise she will continue to eat his, and the majority of the drivers, dust!

I dedicated this whole thread to you.

Why does it have to be all black or white?  Not being a Larson cheerleader doesn't automatically make a person a Larson hater.  A lot of us have never seen him drive a Sprint Car and now that he's having success in NASCAR we probably never will.  It remains to be seen how much Sprint Car racing his Cup car owner and sponsors are going to allow him to do.  That isn't hating, it's more like out of sight out of mind for most of us.

Stan

I have got to see him race and he is all that is advertised, there are few times in life when a person finds the exact calling and he has done it.

You know there are always going to be people who just don't get it. You're just that type. Its like the halfbrain nitwits who were commenting on the yahoo news story about Kyle doing doughnuts without the steering wheel. They called him a spoiled punk brat and said how foolish he was to impression young people with reckless antics. No joke thats what some of those idiots think.

If you actually watched those two races this weekend and were left with the impression that what Larson did was no big deal you are most definitely clueless. I'll give you that eventually the awe and amazement at what Kyle does on track will become second nature and we can say no big deal there. For now however it is a big fucking deal! He makes Austin Dillon look way out of his league and he is the rookie that they compare Kyle to. Dillon is only fast where its all about car setup and NOT about driver, Kyle is fast wherever he can get up on the wheel and purely will his car to the front. Face it, you're witnessing a rare and possibly once in a lifetime talent develop right before your eyes.

He is a good kid from a good blue collar family and he loves dirt sprint car racing. So take it all in for whats it worth and enjoy the ride.

Amen. great post.

Great post Henry. I've watched Kyle race for ten years. He's great in anything he drives. Bottom line!

Could anyone imagine the hate for Larson if he ever wins a sprint car race in posse land? OFF THE CHARTS!

You are exactly right ! I wont speak for anyone else but me in saying" Im celebrating him getting 2nd yesterday. He got 2nd in the biggest racing tour in the USA !!!  He got 2nd in the series that people that dont know anything about racing pay attention to.  By getting 2nd ,somewhere somebody said" Isnt that the kid from from sprint cars ?"  Dirtlover you and i are from the same little circle that you speak of. Im proud to be part of the same circle as you dirtlover! Im also proud of Kyle Larson succeeding because hes from the kind of racing that you n I love to watch. I will beat the Larson drum fervently to anyone that will listen because hes a sprintcar racer ! Same for Smoke , Kahne , Stenhouse  and anyone else i may have forgotten. Larson is bringing attention to the sport that you love .... try and enjoy it.

Another point to your argument-I believe the NASCAR boys are definitely the best talents in the USA.  They come from all different styles of racing and--with a couple of exceptions, (daddy's boys--spoiled brats)  they mastered the classes that they raced in and that is how they got where they are.

Let's go farther.  How many of the guys that won big in Indy cars were ever able to compete in NASCAR?  Foyt, Andretti, Stewart.  Any others?  Juan Pablo was not exactly an old man when he entered Nascar-30?.  The 7 time winner in Formula 1--the self proclaimed greatest racing series in the world--could not find a way to win on anything but a road course--and only twice in 8 years.  In 6 seasons in Formula 1--two 3rd place point's finishes and nothing worse than 8th.  In Sprint Cup--8th place was his best--most points finishes in upper teens and into the 20's.  He never showed any signs of breaking through and being a legitimate contender and he was rarely a threat to win races consistently.

It's mearly a coincidence that he was driving the same car as Larson--that was not my point.  My point is, in 5 races Larson has already run up front with a group of guys--whether you like the cars they drive or not--are some of the absolute best in the world driving race cars.  Very few outsiders from major series have ever been able to compete with them.  He was a serious contender late in the race to win at Bristol before pit strategy put him back and he finished 2nd on his first trip in a Cup car to California.  I don't care if he wins a race this year or not.  He will be a serious threat to win many times this year and that is a lot more than we can say for 99% of the rookie drivers that Nascar has ever seen in the top series.

And, to add to your point--I love being able to tell die hard NASCAR fans that I saw this kid race go-karts and sprint cars when he was young and that they need to watch out for him!  Because, whether everyone wants to admit it or not, most of those guys on Sunday have a ton of talent--and running with them week in and week out is not easy.

This is my point exactly. I was cheering for Larson on Sunday. Why is it that if someone questions something, all of a sudden they are haters.

This Larson thing reminds me of 2004. There was this great open wheel new comer who almost won numerous races in his rookie year. 10 years later he is winning about a race a year, top 15 in points in most years, but just cant seem to be the guy to beat, or the guy to win championships. I am by no means a Kasey Kahne hater, but he hasnt lived up to the hype or expectations everyone here gave him either. Did Kasey win a PA race, besides Pocono?

It was a good run for Kyle, but like someone stated it was a second. Good for him, look for bigger and better things (hopefully), but try not to blow things like this out of proportion.

Love the people who get butthurt over posse fans joking about his performance here, and it's a shame you idiots, don't realize it's a joke.  As for him winning here, I don't think you'll find many haters.  I know many people had cheered for him and were excited to watch him wheel a sprint car, seeing as how he is one of the better drivers in the business.  So before you run your mouth about "posse land fans" know your facts.

This hater thread isn't about the Posse, we'll have our time in 2 months.

Someone earlier said it perfectly, so I'll reiterate...

Kyle is bringing attention to the sport we love. Enjoy it.

Very good post.  It sort of remids me of when Jeff Gordon made the switch to NASCAR.  I heard his name from running with the Outlaws, and winning in everything he climbed into.  I automatically switched allegience to him, hats, shirts, etc......People always told me that I jumped on his bandwagon.  I replied with a few little known facts to show that I knew of him before he was in the big show.  That would shut people up.  Kyle Larson is the same way, and I see and hear people talking about him the exact same way they talked about Gordon.  I may just have to jump on this kids 'bandwagon' because Gordon is nearing the end of his competitive line.  He is still capable of winning, but in the twilight of his career. It is exciting again, to watch NASCAR.   There are a bunch of you that cannot stand the thought of NASCAR and a ressurection, but your talented boy has most everything to do with it.  Go Kyle......You cannot compare Kyle Larson with Kasey Kahne, or Juan Pablo, no way, no how........Just like you cannot compare Gordon with Earnhardt, etc.........In a catagory all by themselves.  Jimmy Johnson? A product of the "Chase"  That is another story for another time.

I assume this is in reference to English Creek? He's far from dominated Knoxville.

He pretty much dominated the non wing show in his first time driving for the Hoffman team in 2011. He won his heat, his qualifier and the 30 lap main event that paid $15,000. So yep, he has definitely dominated in Iowa. He also won a prelim night at the Knoxville Nationals, nothing to sneeze at.

Cheers!

His overall sprint car performance in Iowa is far from domination. He's had a few excellent nights but nothing that hasn't been done before.
