Ken, regarding the $700.00 to win.........isn't that more than what the Rubins pay the 360 sprints to win at Huset's? Hmmmmm.............

If that is the case then you're doin' a h*lluva lot better than I am. I can take a victory lane photo of the winners and by the time I drive home and get online I have to look at my photos to remember who won the Features. Smile

You take pictures and have a website.

Me, I have a computer full of feature winners. Date, place, winner, and points on every touring series that I can get records on. If you live in South Dakota, and you don't drink, bowl, ice fish, hunt or snowmobile, the winters can get VERY long.

If you ever get up to Cedar Lake for the Richert Memorial I'll introduce you to GRP. You two would make a great team. ;)

Thanks anyway, but I wouldn't trust my car all the way to Cedar Lake, and I'm in no position to buy a better one. Does he ever come to the ASCS or NOSA at Huron?

If GRP is doing what I'm doing, maybe we can swap info if I've got stuff he doesn't and vice versa. I can be reached at [email protected]

We have gotten as close as Jackson and Sioux Falls. GRP chases the Late Models out that way sometimes as well. One year we went to Jackson for the Sprints on Friday and Aberdeen for the Late Model Rumble on Saturday.

Just let me know if GRP or yourself make it out this far west. I can make it to Aberdeen, Huron, Watertown, Rock Rapids, Huset's, Hartford, Madison, Montevideo or Canby, as long as it's not on a Friday night when Miller is racing. I write the stories for the track, and besides that, if I missed a race at Miller my nephews would have me declared legally dead and try to collecton on my life insurance.

Several years ago Butch, I mailed you some IMCA Yearbook info for some South Dakota races from many years ago. I was fortunate to have that info, but I can honestly say that you have way more detailed information regarding point standings and feature winners than I do. I've got a bunch of stuff, but you have way more for sure. I'm sure there will be a few fans who send you an email in January when my 10th Annual trivia contest gets underway. I still have that very obscure Miller Speedway 360 sprint car question you sent me as a reply to a post I made on 20/20 a few years ago. One of these years it will be time to break that one out, and I would be surprised if anybody but you knew the answer. :)

By the way, I did locate what I believe is another fairly complete set of IMCA Yearbooks from 1957 to 1975, hence the old IMCA. I believe those were the years the old IMCA printed a Yearbook. Lots of interesting information contained in those old Yearbooks in case you want a set of them.

Actually, the 360 Sprint question at Miller is wrong. The Miller paper was provided with incorrect spelling. I did the history of Rapid City this summer and discovered the man's REAL name. It also turned out they weren't actual 360s, but a Limited Sprint class that only ran at RC in 1982 & 1983. It was still the only Sprint Car race at Miller. Kim Webb loves sprints, but is smart enough to realize that the nearest cars are 3 hours away, which would not making racing them a money making deal. Real 360 racing at Rapid City started in 1986, the year after the 410s were dropped. I forgot we had contact in the past, other than the trivia game. I usually get e-mails on your contests, but I only answer the first request to each question. I also did the history of Raceway Park at Jefferson, SD this year, along with some small town tracks. Next summer I'm doing Pierre and a couple of tracks in the Aberdeen area that ran in the 50s and 60s. Within a couple of years I should have as complete as possible statewide feature win totals for all of the major classes.

It's only work if you'd rather be doing something else.
