Love Chet on Flo. Also a ran of Johnny Gibson. Blake is ok.  Steve Post has done some sprintcand like him as well. The interviewer at Lincoln speedway needs to learn to 1 - Not stick the Mike in drivers faces. He gets right on top of the. And lastly shutup. Talks forever and too much. Find him annoying especially when the track is trying to beat the weather. Talks so much that Fl9 has cut to commercial during his long winded tirades.

I like Steve Post and Winged Nation as well.  I watch the YouTube version.  The only thing I might add is $20 towards Steve's next haircut.  ;)

Me too but a smart card player knows when to lay down their hand and walk away from the table.  If I had kept my long hair I'd. E one of those guys with a pony tail and a bald spot in the middle of my head.  But hey, it's his deal and he can still do a damn good interview so I will give him a pass.  ;)

Oh, I got one: the people that stick a mic in front of a driver seconds after an accident. They do it a ton at the chili bowl, and Chase Raudman got taught by Donny very early into his DirtVision tenure not do it while the driver is trying to assess what's wrong with his car in the work area.

Chase is really good, and he's got years ahead of him, thats great.  Johnny Gibson is an aquired taste, at first I thought W T F, but now I love his enthusiam and knowledge of the sport, he should keep on doing what he's doing

I think every die-hard sprint car racing fan should get a turn at being behind the mic, if even for just one race.

I think they'd find it exciting, challenging and would be a real eye-opener for many, as when your brain is taking in on-track action as fast as it can, and simulaneously regurgitating it back through your mouth, it is quite the experience.

And then when you hear your voice being projected back to you through the sound system - but at about a 1/10 second delay it can certainly cause sensory overload to those not accustomed to it. LOL.

All that being said, Johnny is definitely one of my all-time favorites.

Heck, if he started writing restaurant and movie reviews, I'd probably enjoy reading them just about as much as his track announcing.

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend.

What bugs me about those post race interviews is how announcers try to put words in drivers mouths. They make some long winded statement & then ask drivers "what they think" about it...

Let them speak for themselves!

I never announced but I did some three minute interviews for a racing show in 2003.  A person has to be good at extemperaneous speaking because one never knows what the response will be.  Toastmaster "Table Topics" where participants are given a subject to talk about and have to wing it for a few minutes helped a lot.  Add a camera and it can be kind of streesful getting used to it.  I have spoken to an audience many times with an outline but extemperanous speeches are on a whole other level.  A lot of people list public speaking which would include annoucing as their biggest fear.  ;)
