A couple years back everybody kept asking what will it take to beat Schatz? Now we know the answer- a Ford. ;)

who knows,  maybe they tried something new in engine like camshaft grind.  Things can look good on dyno but on track can prove you wrong.  Remember, this engine is still a young kid

True story.  We've had engines that screamed on the dyno, but didn't run worth a shit on the track.

Then we have had engines that we weren't real happy with on the dyno, but we let them go out the door.  The customer called and said that the engine ran like a bat out of hell.

I'm not the team owner but I think if I was I would test new cam shaft grinds in the 14 not the 15. DS seemed to have the power in Florida to compete. I dont think I would risk that for an unknown. Prove it in the 14 and when you know it's an improvement bring it to the 15.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I've always liked Davey Brown's comment that "The track is our dyno"!

And I think he goes by sound. He stands in a spot in the Grove infield between 3 and 4 where you can't see much - he's gotta be listening.

Never been, never will be,  another guy like Davey Brown! Karl Kinser, as good as he is, is a distant second.

Bob Trostle always said HWY 14 was his dyno.  Knoxville Raceway is on HWY 14.

Everytime Davey's car is on the track at Williams Grove he walks down to the infield in turn 4. As the race progresses he works his way over towards about halfway around the corner towards turn 3.  He has been doing this every race since at least the mid 80's.

3 bad years in a row. Maybe Schatz should park the private jet and start riding in the rig.

I think alot of that has to do with the New ford motor developement.

Let's give Donny some credit and look at things a different way. Suppose he hust got tired of winning all the time? Maybe the fun just went out of it. It happens. Suppose he decided what would be fun would be to be part of developing a revolutionary engine for sprint car racing? I know, sounds silly-right? But that's the same guy that was trying to develop a sprint car engine out of standard Chevy car engine few years ago-right?
