I hate to do this, because I respect the hell out of the PA teams who do travel, but I couldn't help but notice the performance on a neutral track tonight at Weedsport.

You had Hodnett, Dietrich, Marks and Wolfe, 4 of the top 7 or so Posse guys. To be fair, Hodnett was 2nd quick and had issues in the A, but best finish was 11th. Outlaw teams swept the top 10.

Cubes will of course pretend this race didn't happen, but interesting nonetheless.

Here is an interesting article than Lance Dewease contributed to not to long ago.  Interesting to hear the thoughts of one of the best from our area.

When I think of posse finding speed on the track I doubt I'm alone when I think one of their fans must've dropped a twisted little baggie out of their pocket.

Cheers!

Holy Cow........

This thread is full of face-palm.

Glad Lance won. I love it when locals of any locale beat the Outlaws. It's a fun David vs Goliath story, and part of the appeal of the Outlaws coming to town in the first place. There are many strong cars throughout the USA that can challenge the Outlaws at certain tracks, but the WoO will win more often than not. They are rich with talent, and rich with top notch equipment.

To say "corn country" does not have the talent that PA has is asinine. Both have deep talent pools with a similar number of top notch cars leading the way.

To the posters who are from PA, and are embarassed by the behavior of some of your fellow "Posse" supporters; don't worry, we know they are the minority. You have some of the best racing right in your back yard. We all wish we could say the same.

Had a birthday party planned for the late April Outlaw show at I55 this year. Had 20+ friends coming with me to BBQ before the race, enjoy some beverages, and then watch the greatest show on dirt! For 75% of them, this would have been their first WoO race. Many of them had never been to a dirt track period, which I was very excited about sharing that experience with them. Unfortunately, rain ended my party before it even got started. Ill try to bring them back for the Friday portion of the Iron Man 55 this August.

They had every color of spray paint in the car so no matter who won they could quick spray the winners number on the sheet, I wonder if they bought a new sheet or just slept on the mattress that night. #Posseproud

On a side note, I dont believe that is the infamous 9 foot tall drunk guy who feels the need to pick up and hug whichever Posse driver made his dream come true by winning that particular evening. So sorry. #Classyposse

You have me laughing hard at your comments on this thread! My coworkers are looking at me like I'm crazy! "I wonder if they bought a new sheet or just slept on the mattress that night" has to be one one of the funniest lines I've read oh HH. Props to you!

Bronco fans tend to be be "Bronco fans" & not football fans. If they lose, they whine about refs, other team "playing dirty", or pick one player to crucify. Other team played better? Inconceivable....

So the question is are they "Posse fans" or "sprint car fans who root for the Posse"?

I don't live in Pennsylytucky but thats where I saw my first sprint car races (first one, little Clinton County, next one, Sammy winning National Open) & love driving thru Pa. hills (whole state is 56% forest....)

No, that is Cincinnati Bengal fans when they beat by the Steelers!

Hear about what all the time? You must have been drawing pictures of your Posse heroes during Reading comprehension class.

Absolutely hilarious! After reading this I have decided to buy a Sprintcar team so I can make me some extra cash!! No, better yet I will do an infomercial on a new get rich overnight scheme, RAGS TO RICHES THE EASY WAY... SPRINTCAR RACING !!!

The Woo must be doing really well to be able to pay drivers to show up to fill the field, I wonder how the local weedsport 410 drivers and Woo drivers felt about The WoO paying the Pa guys to come race and possibly take money out of their families mouths. Hmmm

Lol. That's one or the funniest things I've read in a LONG time and 100% true. These people are pathetic.

I agree that some of the stuff posted on here boasting about the Posse is over the top, but a majority of it is people trolling for a response and they get one every time. What I don't understand is the hate for  Matt and the Beer Hill Gang. These people may drink a few too many and have a good time, but if they aren't hurting you then what is the big deal? Matt and friends have organized a ton of fundraisers for local teams this year along with selling their own merchandise which helps sponsor many teams, including the 69k. I guess it's classier to sit behind a screen name and make fun of people who have a different way of blowing off steam than you do though. Now you can all make fun of my post too, so you have something to occupy yourselves with until next race weekend.

I have nothing but respect for the BeerHill Gang in terms of helping others, great on them. Getting shit faced and banging cymbals during the national anthem, drinking till you fall down, and in general annoying anyone who is actually there for the race instead of the party is not so great.

I don't know Matt the hugger nor do I care to, I hope his parents are proud of his ability to pick up and hug drivers while stumbling around drunk making an ass of himself, but hey, hes part of group that sponsors a car or 2 so it's ok.

And yes, I agree with you, it is classier to sit behind a computer screen making fun of drunks and hillbillies who believe the Posse is a form of religion then it is to be one of those drunken hillbillies holding up bed sheets and winning drivers in an attempt to prove how #Posseproud they are.

I'm guessing you are just one of those boring, self-loving kind of guys that hates seeing anyone else have fun. But i bet if the same situations occurred at a football game, or a similar sporting event, it's no big deal. Quit being hateful about what others do and maybe start looking into a new hobby.

On a side note, I'll never understand why Kville and Posse fans go against each other. We're all here to cheer against the Outlaws, so who goves a flying cat who beat them as long as they were beat? #UnityAgainstWoO

Posse v Outlaws is one of the best rivalries in racing...its flat out awesome.

99% of Posse nation has nothing but respect toward the outlaws...but root wildly crazy for the local boys...

Weedport: I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that Schuchart is pretty much Posse , tho he's running the outlaw circuit.

New format? Donnie won from 9th

I was sceptical but it seems to be working out pretty well

The WoO contract drivers who are on a "Platinum" deal, if memeory serves me correctly, get $800 just for showing up, they also get Pit Passes($35-40/per person), and I am pretty sure they get a deal on their tires since the series has a contract with Hoosier. So I think "getting paid to show up" is a pretty good deal. Not bashing....just trying to give a little context to your statement. As for the local and the PA Drivers....I doubt they get the same treatment. And the tracks, they also are paying the freight, with pretty large sanctioning fees, on top of the purse. The Outlaws are good, they are professional racers. The Posse, Knoxville, and Cali, have a few professional teams, but much like the Outlaws they are only a few. For the most part the teams that make the rest of the field are blue collar or small business owners who just have a passion for the sport. And don't forget each local Driver has to buy the WoO insurance , last time I checked it was like $123/year, just to take the track with them.

I haven't heard for 2 or 3 years but platinum drivers used to get around $1000 per show. Maybe it is less now with more teams following them I'm not sure. I have been with local teams that were given $800 a night plus 3-4 pit passes a night to go to the May Charlotte race and Virginia Motor Speedway so the Outlaws could bring a full field. It still doesn't pay for a night of racing, but it helps with fuel to tow the extra distance.
