Enlighten me how this is pointless for this discussion?

His problem is that they aren't at Badlands so he doesn't care to acknowledge those events.

Name me 5 410 teams in the country that can travel over 600 miles and run back to back to back once a week. By the way $6400 at BMS on a Saturday night show possible.

Lasoski, Brown, McCarl, Kaeding, Madsen.

Other from the fact I'm not from Missouri Arkansas or Kansas and it seems this thread is about BMS, Knoxville and Jackson (NSL or Jackville) I got nothing.

You brought up the 360 Series and I figured these were relevant facts. One complains that the NSL 410s isnt broad enough and now we complain that the 360 NATIONAL Series is too spread out. We can't please everyone. People in those areas now have the chance to catch some high paying sprint action that some decent names will show up for. This is good even if you or I can't attend each and every race. Trying to make one or two of them may make a nice weekend trip for some of us where we can go to a new track.

I think your right. It does suck BMS doesnt get any NSL events because Chuck and Todds money could and will do a lot of good for the midwest. BMS just needs to take more of a cooperative approach. I am not sure where the middle ground lies between Saturday and Sunday night racing for each but it sure would be great if issues could be resolved to help all parties.

With the travel times associated with the region and distance between tracks for competing teams, how can fans possibly be shocked that the Kville monopoly on Saturday night would be challenged at some point?

on any given week, someone bitches about "not enough purse" / "not enough cars" / "tacks going away" etc...and here we have weekly posts of pandemonium over 410 TEAMS FACED WITH CHOOSING WHERE THEY WANT TO RUN ON A SATURDAY...

running on a Sunday here on Posse SOil always resulted in lower car counts due to team being tired / wrecked / already won and want to take the night off.

Until drivers / teams and FANS ALIKe are "full time" and not earning a living outside of a dirt track, "3 nights of weekly racing" is a pipe dream in today's world IMO.

If anyone has the money to sponsor me as a 3 night a week fan, I will consider all reasonable offers...but I'm not cheap

Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

BMS has made many upgrades. Imo outside of the old owners, there weren't that many complaints.

As an avid dirt racing fan I could care LESS about what the restrooms, stands, or concessions look like.

VIP? Really? Sorry but the whole VIP experience is bs. Most dirt racing fans want a good car count and a racy track, but NOT overpriced tickets.

I'm all about the specials and driving here or there within my traveling distances, so BMS really won't get anymore attendance from me than Husets did.

I don't see any more car counts than they had last season just because of new ownership or payout. I did notice an increase in cost to the fan for a weekly.

Good luck with that in my opinion. Something that hasn't been mentioned either is that I-90 still plans on racing on Saturday nights with the HRA Non-Wings. Now some fans will go there just because the ticket price will be less.

If the HRA gets some decent car counts, that will cut into some weekly crowds at BMS who don't want to fork over $20 to walk through the gate for a weekly.

410 weekly sprint racing around here just doesn't have a ton of teams to support multiple tracks on the same nights imo. Than again I find a weekly 410 show with under 15 cars a total waste of time.

Like I said I chase specials. Bigger features with bigger car counts. No matter what series you're chasing.

Jackson looks to be making some nice changes. Their Friday night program will probably be worth a road trip once in awhile.

The WOO show at BMS won't be any bigger car count wise in my opinion, IF I attend I see it will be more expensive than it was last year and I thought as many that $35 was steep.

Time will tell. Those who could carless about spending more money for the same show will support BMS and those who don't want to spend more won't. The Sunday night show may do well with the 360's? The 305's are a waste of time period in my opinon so mentioning them on Saturday shows means nothing to me as a fan.

At BMS, I see more cars in the 410’s especially w/cars coming from North Dakota & some 360’s running w/possible $1100 just to start the feature. Should have at least 25+ cars for both Saturday (410’s) & Sunday shows with the 360’s running for $2500 to win & $300 to start.  As long as the BMS track prep provides a good racing surface each night.  Not some roughed up & or rubbered down racetrack.

I also saw that HRA non wing are racing 5 nights in 2016 @ I90.  I wouldn’t be surprised that in 2017 HRA will race every week replacing the IMCA 305 sprints (especially if IMCA 305’s still only pay $300 to win there). Don’t think that too many more fans will go to I90 now since they have dropped both the Winged 360 Sprint cars & Late Model Street Stocks in the past 2 years.

Like what Jackson Motorplex is doing racing 2 nights per week. (Sprints on Friday & Stock Cars on Saturday).  Also like what BMS is racing on both Saturdays/Sundays.  The only thing I don’t like @ BMS is that if the Saturday show is rained out & run the following night. Then the 360’s would not be racing.  And what happens if only the Sunday show is rained out during the season.  Do they get a rainout date the following week or are they S.O.L.

I agree that a $40 ticket for the World of Outlaws @ BMS in July is steep.  But it’s also $60 for attending both nights.  To watch the Gold Cup in August is ridiculous with $60 tickets the first 2 nights & &75 for the finale.  There probably will not be too many fans in the stands especially after 10 days of racing @ Knoxville/Oskaloosa the 2 weeks before.  And if there is low turnout for the Gold Cup will the winner’s payout be reduced since it says (Dates, Times & Payouts subject to change) on their website.

I live in central penna.and Lincoln n Port Royal speedway have been running 410 s on the same nite for years, they are maybe 75 miles apart if that, and usually the cars are about evenly split on saturday nites, also throw in Selinsgrove speedway and you have 3 tracks running on saturday nites, the only difference is Selinsgrove now runs 360 s on sat nites. but Selinsgrove is only  40 miles from Port Royal Speedway. It seems we are all getting along,it is better to work together then to try and hurt each track, actually Port Royal and Selingrove are running a Super late model series, for a route 35 series championship together,3 races at each track and they will declare a champion for the 3 race series.

Badlands Motor Speedway Offering $10,000 To Win For Lucas Oil ASCS In 2016

TULSA, Okla. (January 28, 2016) Adding to the 25th season of action for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, the nation’s largest Sprint Car sanctioning body is proud to announce the series debut at Badlands Motor Speedway in Brandon, S.D. on Sunday, July 31, 2016.

A perfect lead in to the Arnold Motor Supply ASCS 360 Knoxville Nationals, the single night blowout will give teams plenty of reasons to make the drive, with the series’ first visit worth $10,000 to the A-Feature winner.

“We’re excited to get the opportunity to bring the Lucas Oil ASCS brand to Badlands Motor Speedway. Most of our drivers competed at the track when it was Huset's Speedway, and it’s a favorite for sure,” said ASCS Competition Director, Matt Ward. “Being $10,000 to win, that really ads to the whole week leading into the 360 Nationals, and gives not only our drivers, but every driver who is eyeing a big prize another great night of racing.”

Badlands Motor Speedway is the fourth track in South Dakota to host a Lucas Oil ASCS National event since 1998. In all, 11 events have been contested in the “The Mount Rushmore State” with the most recent held at the Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City on July 24, 2015. Johnny Herrera picked up the win at the four-tenths mile oval.

Times, ticket prices, and other information on the event will be posted as they are made available. For more information on Badlands Motors Speedway, log onto http://www.badlandsmotorspeedway.com, or call (605) 679-3310.

$20 for this show is much more in line than what BMS is charging for their other big events.

If Jackson's new grandstand first row is now elevated enough to view the backstretch as well as the front stretch this fan is going to be one happy camper.

One thing Knoxville & Jackson both are and BMS will never be, 1/2 mile.

Not knocking 3/8ths tracks but BMS corners are so freaking tight, not like say Eagle or Cedar Lake where it's easy to run 3, even 4 wide at times.

BMS is fine and probably best for sprinters, but not very entertaining for lates or mods in my opinion.

Ultimately this really doesn't affect a whole lot if you look at it realistically.  Knoxville's 25-30 car count will go to 20-25.  Badlands 15-18 car count probably stays about the same for the first year.

Knoxville still has better support classes, A lot of the Sioux Falls guys werent coming to Knoxville every week anyway and same thing with the Knoxville guys.

Jackson really makes out with this one, probably should have moved to Fridays years ago knowing the void and actually being somewhat close to the middle between both places anyway.

I see a couple of complications that will hurt drivers/fans in the area if the different promoters chuck/tod/knoxville are really competing with one another.

I am highly interested in seeing how both Saturday shows treat incoming weather.  In the past, Knoxville has been good about calling races a little earlier when WoO are within driving distance.  Are Badlands and Knoxville going to take into consideration that their drivers/fans may be able to head to the other track if they call rainouts early enough or are they going to act like they are trying to get races in until hotlaps time to prevent fans/drivers from going to the other track.

The other thing that I find interesting is that NSL/Knoxville is doing a two-day show July 1-2 and WoO/Badlands is doing a show July 2-3.  How that situation plays out will be interesting to see which drivers choose which shows based on track/series points/race payout

In the end, Badlands really had nothing to lose when they decided to move to Saturdays, what is the worst possible scenario?  They end up back on Sundays in a few years?  I'm not supporting the decision, just looking at it differently, personally, I might have taken the safe route and tried to lock up NSLs Sunday night program to match with my own.

Knoxville should have no problem getting 30 – 35+ 410’s especially for NSL shows. BMS should get 25+ 410’s for what their weekly payout is.

As for the NSL @ Knoxville & World of Outlaws @ BMS, on July 1 – 3 it’s only 1 night is which some drivers would choose where to race.  I wouldn’t be surprised if both Knoxville & BMS offered show up points for drivers racing for the point fund(s) money @ season’s end.

As for inclement weather @ BMS, I’m sure that they will wait as long as possible before they would cancel a show.  Especially on Saturday’s, even if it’s starting late @ night.

Even if BMS went back to running 410’s on Sunday’s again, there’s no guarantee that the NSL would go back & race there again

Who knows what will happen with NSL and Badlands in the future but I do know for a fact that NSL was still trying to work with Badlands as late as the swap meet in Sioux Falls at the swap meet in early January when it offered some Sunday night dates to Badlands. Tom S. Jr. turned them down. So maybe there is still hope for the racing fans that these two organizations can work together in the future and put on a show together. Right Tom. This is what your Dad would have done. Glen Murra

Basically 12 straight shows going against BMS and you're trying to say they're trying to work with them, You're kidding right the NSL has become a two track series to take down 1 track period.

So the other 10 tracks the NSL visit don't count?
