That's an interesting concept and something I'd like to see. I'd at least like to see those guys come run my home tracks more often. The Knoxville/NSL regulars are in my opinion, the most talented group of weekly racers in the country right now. Here in Pa, we have some young guys who are up and coming that may help to even that score in the next couple of years but right now, Knoxville is the toughest weekly field in the country. It would be neat to see something like that materialize. As far as Brian Brown wanting to run the National Open, unless something has changed, he said after the last time that he came in to run it that he wouldn't be back. He ran decent and put it in the show both nights yet still lost his ass financially due to the much too top heavy purse and that was his reason. I wish he would come back though. He's in my opinion probably the greatest ambassador that sprint car racing has. Very classy, very friendly and one hell of a driver.

Surprised no co-sanctions with the IRA at Sun Prairie and Cedar Lake again. Thought both were great shows but the IRA regulars did struggle at both shows.
|
With a couple of TBA's on the schedule sept 9 and 10 maybe Cedar lake can get that fall date with the IRA. That looks like the weekend that they have been running there. MIght be waiting until the IRA schedule is out. A sun Prairie date would be a sunday and there is a few open yet. That show went over really well.

I hope you're not referring to my post because if you think that was a "Pa is great" post then you need to brush up on your reading and interpretive skills. But since you mentioned it, I live in Pa and it is in fact great. Actually, I'd go so far as to say it kicks ass. But so does Ohio, Knoxville/NSL (currently the toughest weekly competition in the country), Indiana & California. Great racers all across this country and even from other countries such as Australia (I've always been a big Garry Brazier fan and more recently James McFadden). In fact if I were a billionaire, I'd travel to all those aformentioned places to see sprint cars. So if that to you is me bragging about Pa, then I don't know what to tell you. I've never owned a pair of Posse blinders and I never will. I'm well aware of the talent that resides in other areas as well as some damn nice tracks on my bucket list that I hope to visit some day.

I would love to see Brown, Lasoski, Kaeding, Zomer and TMac at the Dirt Classic at Lincoln. Kinda sucks that the Outlaws are at Lernerville that night as well, may keep some of the All Star teams away that could also come in.

US 36 has only run two or three races each of the past two years, and the rut entering turn 1 has taken numerous cars out over the years. They better come up with a solution for that before the Outlaws, NSL, and the 410s show up. Many MO drivers, notably Brown and Lasoski, won't run there with all of the equipment damage that goes on. If they can fix that, the high banks should make for a "can't miss" show.
|
During the off season one year, I stopped by the track and wandered around for a bit. That rut in turn one comes from rain water draining down the turn from the pit entrance. I don't believe they do any working on the track until it gets close to one of their scheduled races. When Tony Bruce, Jr. promoted ASCS National shows there, you would see him get up in the tractor with the track owner and get him to work on that rut. It can be a real car destroyer unfortunately. I have seen the track smooth a handful of times though (the POWRi shows always seemed to have good track conditions) and when it is, it's one of my favorite tracks.

He was just saying that Knoxville has the best racers lately. NOT "Pa. is great".
If pointing out that he wasn't bragging constitutes bragging on my part.... well, excuuuuse me!

+1 I pulled up the track on Google Maps. The cause of the rut is very obvious. All they need to do is take the motor grader and build a berm to prevent the water from running on to the track from the pit entrance. They can remove it any time they need to for a race.

They can fix it, but for the past 6-7 years going there, they have chosen not to. One young racers career ended there when her car literally disintigrated when she hit the rut and tumbled through the turn. I doubt they could have reassembled the pieces into anything recognizable and they auctioned off what remained of her top wing during the show. All I'm saying is the WoO and NSL don't deal with this kind of hazard on a regular basis and it would be unfortunate that someone would pay the price. The Warrior 360s usually put on a great show there, despite a 14-16 car count, and I'm looking forward to the 410s next September.

Typically the IRA runs at the Superior, Wisconsin, Speedway Northern Nationals on that Friday and the Jerry Richert Sr. Memorial on Saturday. Unless NSL has another race somewhere in Iowa that Friday my guess would be that they'll follow the IRA both nights this year. Superior is red clay and when it's prepped right it's a very exciting places to watch Sprints. They hook up big time on the red clay and pull the front wheels up on the straights. That would be two great nights of racing if they were to add Souptown. ;)

The Dirt Classic is the same night the Outlaws are at Lernerville and the All-stars are at the 4-Crown with a $100k bonus on the line? Good for the drivers to have some great options, fans probably not thrilled

Was really surprised to see the Dirt Classic on there schedule. So, as a PA fan I have to ask. Does that mean any cars following the series would be in town? Kinda like if it was an All-Star sanctioned event all of the All-Star drivers would be there. I'd love to see all the NSL guys race against our locals. There are some badass racers out in the Midwest that we don't get to see very often!

Maybe it's not the Pa fans that are the problem, maybe it's guys like you who think every fan in Pa is jack ass, Fixxer actually took shots at Pa about top heavy purses, and then gave props to Knoxville and Black jack and you still somehow read that as Pa is great post, perhaps it's time to look in the mirror Larsonfan, and own the fact that yo have so much animosity toward Pa fans that it effects your ability to read and comprehend, you troll this message board looking for a reason to make a negative Pa fan comment, give it up man, if everyone thought like you, we would assume every Larson fan is a negative self absorbed know it all, but fortunately for the rest of the Larson fans we realize that's just you.

Ahhh, my buddy Staggy. Time for your semiannual tough guy act with me. Your shit gets so old. Every thread, even if about sprint car racing thousands of miles away, a few posts into it, you get the "I'm from PA and (fill in the blank)". Every post from one of you homers reminds me of the movie line "one time at bandcamp...". Nobody gives a shit how great PA is. Those of us who have been there know your tracks are dumps. For the life of me, I'll never understand why you guys think you are the center of the sprint car universe. See ya tough guy.

Dear Larsonfan,
I write this with love in my heart because Im concerned about you. Let us review what has happened here. Bill W puts out the NSL schedule, a Pa fan notices that a race at Lincoln Speedway which is in Pa is on the schedule, the fan then makes a very good post about that race and how much he would like to see the great racers from the NSL come to Pa to compete and your reaction is to make rude disrespectful comments about Pa fans and how great we think Pa is? Then I call you out for your rediculous post, and you again make stereotypical comments about Pa fans. What is wrong with you? Did somthing bad happen to you in Pa? Are you jealous of the passion Pa fans have for the Posse? Maybe you can discuss it with your therapist and figure it all out. All that hatred/jealousy is impeding your ability to think rationally, I hope you get the help you need, I forgive you, mental illness is not funny, get well soon.
With love from Pennsylvania (home of the greatest 410 drivers, tracks, owners, and fans in the solar system)
Your pal Staggy
