No , I am not going to make blanket statements from now on to satisfy you and my other critics . Yes, they do a good job marketing this race. But I'd like to see the race move around to other venues , which I think would be good for Pa racing , bring fans to all tracks in Pa , let fans have better comforts with better seating , better restrooms, and so forth . I would increase the fan experience by different items, like money prizes not a drawing if you buy an advance tickets , let the tracks sell the tickets not online so the company or promoters can make early profits on you the fans. Alot of promoters do this because they know how hungry fans are to see racing in ,not just high profile races . I have nothing against WoO , I just don't agree with some of there practices or rules . I have nothing but respect for all the drivers and like to see new creative ways so the owners or teams can get more of a profit back to help there expenses. And one way is through advance ticket sales.

Move it around to other tracks? Are you serious? I'm literally laughing out loud at this nonsense. So I guess next year we should run the Dirt Classic at Port Royal, the National Open at Lincoln and the Tuscarora 50 at Williams Grove and the next time I go to Burger King, they should make me a Big Mac. Just when I think you can't get any more ridiculous you reel off that gem. Thanks for the entertainment.

I agree with you......his statement was rather stupid. Each track....everywhere.....can build their own large event and make it a marquis race. And events like that should be for the local and not too distant drivers. The hell with continually feeding the top 6 WoO teams the money our local drivers and drivers from neighboring tracks and states have earned the right to have a shot at every year! There should be that one race each year where the money doesn't travel too far down the road.

I am glad you find me so amusing , and I am glad I provide so much entertainment for you or anyone else , who disagrees with my comments . I never said nothing about the other tracks that was your idea , HA HA . It would good to have a race for our locals for 50,000 instead of letting the outsiders come in with a possible chance to win .

Your right with several points but Lincoln did not build this race the people behind it did , but the location is everything with Lincoln because most of there fans don't travel . But then Lincoln is a smaller track and it makes for good racing as contains the speed and isn't wide enough . If it were wider the racing there would be even better .Yes it would be nice for the money not travel down the road , to use your statement .

Are you really that dense? Did you even READ what I wrote? It was YOUR idea to move the Dirt Classic around to other tracks was it not? What I was saying was if we apply your logic to all the big races in Central PA, that's what we'd get. Why the hell should Lincoln give their marquee event to another track? Like I said, if we apply your way of thinking, shouldn't Port Royal get the chance to run the National Open and shouldn't the Juniata County fair then take place at Williams Grove along with the Tuscarora 50? You claim to know how to do all this shit better than what we currently have yet you can't even rationalize the context of my post which was about as simple as it gets. So to be clear, I don't ACTUALLY think that Port Royal should give the Tuscarora 50 to Williams Grove nor do I think any of the big races should be moved from track to track including the Dirt Classic. It was YOUR idea to move the Dirt Classic to other tracks which is hands down the dumbest thing I've ever seen anyone say on this forum. Do you get it now or is this all still too complicated for your simple mind to comprehend? One other thing, you bitched about the admission price which was not bad at all. $25 general admission for 10 heat races, a consi and a 40 lap, $20,000 to win, $700 to start feature. Yet Port Royal which you always speak so highly of, is well known for over pricing their bigger events. In fact this season, they charged $30 to get into the Tuscarora 50 which pays $12,000 to win and $600 to start and you didn't have anything to say about that. Seems to me, you just don't like Lincoln Speedway which is fine. Everyone has their preferences but that doesn't mean they need to give up their big show to another Speedway just because Bob Altman doesn't care for their track.

Port has been doing that for the Dream race and the car count keeps getting smaller. Why pay more if they don't come anyhow?

I paid $30 to get in to the Dirt Classic. While waiting in line yo make my purchase I did some quick math. 10 heats , 1 B-main , and a 40 lap feature = 12 races. 30 divided by 12 = $2.50 per race. I thought GOOD DEAL !!! , I'm in !
I bet that much as the night goes by.

A $30.00 ticket for that show was a great deal! I live in the midwest so of course to travel was out of the question....@ $19.95 for the PPV, the Dirt Classic was a great deal from that perspective, also. The crowd looked huge from what was shown on screen. So much for PPV holding back the gate, even when it is less money than a ticket. I have definate opinions about PPV. But that's for a different forum discussion.

Yes , I know I made typo mistakes but I hurried this to get a reply out to Mr. Fixxxer, I promise I give you more honest opinion or my ideas and maybe someone will find them credible or something new to generate interest or to reward you the fan or fans , AS YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELVES FOR BEING GREAT FANS.
|
I still do not get the big need you have to "reward the fans". I go to races of my own free will, because I love it. I do not need a reward for showing up & buying a ticket.
How does the NFL reward their fans? By making them buy preseason game tickets at full price in order to get season tickets. Then charge outrageous prices for food & drinks.
If you shop at the same store all summer and do not get a reward do you quit shopping there?
If you went to a track that was just built brand spanking new with great facilities, great racing, a million dollar purse, huge field of cars, perfect race format, and all fans let in for free with free concessions, you would still find something you would want changed or done differently.
You don't go to races for the racing, you go to nit pick and try and make yourself look smart.

More can be done with this race and hopefully it will be done . Drivers are great that are coming but can't go for admission price and the actual concept of this race , but I am glad for the drivers as they need these races but they need to increase purse through field .
|
Pretty shifty reasons for Mr support all tracks and drivers to not go to a race. $30 to much for a guy who claims to love the sport so much? Just made yourself look bad again.
And it sounds like you missed a great show too!

I got an advanced general admission ticket so mine was $25 but yeah you're right on man. For the amount of racing and the quality of racing we saw, it was well worth it.

If we get more fans like Robert Altman we may as well close all the tracks. If he can't afford to pay 25 to get in to a top racing event I feel sorry for him. He is what is wrong with this sport
--a total d...wad who is in love with him self. Hey I am not a fan of Port Royal, but that doesnt mean the Dream race should go to the Grove or Lincoln. To each track their own marquee event.
