This is how simple this case should be. Would Kevin Ward Jr be alive today had he stayed in his race car? If your answer is yes? Then it should be over. If your answer is no. Then start explaining how that is Tony Stewarts fault.

What bothers me is the timing. These people have had a year to file this suit. They wait until the anniversary of the accident when everyone is already talking about it to file. It's a shame that these folks lost their kid, but they have come off very poorly over the course of this last year and this only adds to that.

I saw their son run toward moving race cars, not race races trying to run him down! Stay in your car and live, get out of your car and drastically increase your chances of being hurt or killed! That was Kevin Ward Jr Decision not anyone else's!!

The court system will take it's course again. Everything is in Stewart's favor. He will come out of it alright. They already said there wasn't enough to charge him criminally. The DA dismissed it last year. Plus Stewart can out-lawyer them 100-1. If they need to pursue it one more time for their own reasons it's their right. It looked like the kid was really mad and tried to grab on to Stewart's wing and got caught up in the tire. It was his fault. It just looked bad that Stewart lit up the tires to throw him off or for whatever reason. And trying to just go race the Cup race the very next day pissed a lot of people off.
"Our son was truly the light of our lives, and we miss him terribly every day," Ward's parents said in a statement. "Our hope is that this lawsuit will hold Tony Stewart responsible for killing our son and show him there are real consequences when someone recklessly takes another person's life."

Do you think that marijuana in his system is not a fact? I had freinds in high school who thaught the were better people smoking marijuana. Fact is, they were much different people under the influence of it, and it showed on the football field, on the basketball court and in life. The sad fact is some of them still cant find their own asses with two hands and a flashlight, and would be much different off the shit all together. Life is all about choices, and you can't alway defend people who make bad ones all the time!

It upsets me to see that a suit got filed this weekend instead of any other time. The timing totally makes me think that there is intent to smear and psycologically damge the defendant as much as possible. I have no doubt that Tony got sick to his stomach as soon as his plane touched down bringing him to Watkins Glen and that even without the suit it would have been a very miserable and depressing race weekend for him. Now nobody will be able to turn on local TV without seeing mention of the suit and being reminded of how tragic this weekend was last year.
But what upsets me the most is that it even got to the lawsuit stage. Tony is widely known as one of the most charitable professional athletes in the world. You could fill a large gymnasium with all the people in need that Tony has helped out financially. I'm not talking about doing fundraisers using his name to raise money or token things that have been done for good publicity, I'm talking about Tony buying houses for old racers in trouble, paying medical bills, helping somebody get back into the sport after serious injury, etc etc. Not by hosting golf tournaments or pancake breakfasts with huge entry prices...just writing checks or handing envelopes full of cash to somebody in need.
There will be a settlement or some sort of judgement. I have a feeling the plantiff would much rather take it to trial and drag it out as much as possible, but regardless a check will be written. HALF of whatever that amount ends up being will end up in the bank account of some law office and the family will only get half.
Sad thing is, if the family would have just approached Tony and said "We miss our son, but "X" amount of money would make us feel better" a check probably would have been written then and there without getting lawyers, courts and media involved....thats what upsets me the most about the lawsuit.
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

the timing is an act of vengence to intentionally disrupt Stewarts weekend with media distractions

Bullshit. I would compare this to getting hit by a drunk driver out on the roads. He's drunk, it's completely his fault, and then his family sues you? It's the same thing here. Kevin Ward caused the whole thing by acting like a jackass. He is 100% responsible here, not Smoke. The Ward family wants to get rich off of their son's death even though it was their son's fault, it's called greed. Sorry if some people can't accept reality.

So genius, if that was your 20 year old kid what would you do if you were His parents. You don't know, because you probably never will be in a situation like this. It's easy to bash when it's not you in their shoes. I'd rather we respect all parties involved, both Ward and Tony.

Unfortunately, deaths happen everyday on our roadways, at our jobs, and on occasion at race tracks. Whether it's greed or vengeance, people will sue and that will never change.
