Schatz, Henderson, Lasoski, Shane Stewart, Brian Brown
Top 5 "sleepers": TK and Dale Blaney (only a "sleeper" bc of recent results at Nationals)

Thats what l keep thinking but he never breaks down...having a wreck is more probable.
|
You are right, he is easy on equipment and if he crashes It will be someone elses mistake. he is the best there is at this point!

I don't know if I would agree that he is due. He had bad luck on his qualifying night a couple years ago and still won from the B.

No we do not want anyone to crash. we are just saying if schatz is going to have a dnf it will be because of a crash! that is all we are saying.

I like you thoughts but there are a few holes.
In 2013 Schatz qualified 8th, ran 5th in his heat, 3rd in the B, and then went on to start 23rd in the A and make his way up to 10th in the 25 lap qualifying feature. Did not elect to run Friday and started 4th in the B on Saturday (where he qualified). Wins the B to start 20th on the grid. By the 25 lap caution Schatz was already up to 5th (no telling what he would of got up to if it was a 30 lap feature. So theory #1 and #2 ar shot.
I do agree with point 3. World Challenge should have nothing to do with the A main but I do understand why they do it. The same way why I agree with the Friday format change. More heavy hitters running Friday means more people are going to attend. Let's face it, Knoxville loses money on the best sprint car weekly show around. I have no problem with them doing whatever they have to do to make a few more dollars during the Nationals.

The only point here that's actually helped Schatz is the lap change, and that may have only mattered in 2013 when he came from 21st (made his winning pass on lap 40). The rest has yet to effect him in any fashion.

Not picking Schatz in this era is like not picking Steve in the '80's and early '90's. So, I guess I'm thinking this is going to be an off year for Schatz.
Shane Stewart
Sammy Swindell
Danny Lasoski
Justin Henderson
Kerry Madsen
I'd really like to see Brian Brown finally get the win, but he has really been struggling this year. Hopefully they can get it figured out this next week and a half.

I agree that it was a good post with a few holes.
But to add to 2013, if my math is correct, with the old format he would have started in the A already without having to start 4th in the B. So therefore, the new format actually hurt him at that point. He was the 20th point man and only 16 cars got the A-main spots. In the past, he would have already started in 20th without having to run the B.
Am I correct on this?
