and from what it appears, no penalty for the #5j according to updated points. With that precedent being set, beat away on each other fellas!! bystanders... look out.
|
Look again...5J finished race in 12th. Looks like they dis-allowed his restart after the incident in the work area and credited him with 21st (1 position above the 99M) and a DNF as if he never made it out of the work area. Just a slap on the wrist. Should have DQ'ed and parked him for the year to send a message.
I too am interested in the Mock deal being referenced from last week. Another hot head kid there too.

A few years ago Kertsher was suspended races for rough driving on the track (Which I agreed with because there were a few instances that were just over the top). That was on track instances where drivers were strapped into machines designed for safety, not in a crowded work area with people walking round with no protection. If you want to let your anger get the best of you, and ruin someone else's equipment, do it on the track under caution, not while there are innocent bystanders around. Or better yet, go talk like a human being after the race is over. Unfortunately, special treatment exists in almost any sport now a days...

The finish scored on the IRA Faceook page after the race had the 5j in 12th, official results have him 21st. That is all.....
I tell it like I see it.

Exactly, not really a big deal at all. Should have been a 3 weeks suspension. So now if someone gets run over by someone, and finishes say...20th, there is essentially no real punishment by flying into the pits and hitting the other drivers car and getting placed at 24th. I can tell you this, if if someone ever gets hit in front of me due to circumstances like this going forward, the IRA will never see a dollar out of me or anyone in my family again. They basically considered this a minor infraction.

Forget using the car as a weapon. Be a man, talk it out, maybe put somebody in a headlock, but never, for any reason ever use your car as a weapon. We saw what a sprint car can do to a human being.
Don't know what anyone is talking about as far as Phillip Mock. Please enlighten me.
Great show put on by PPM and Mike Reinke, let's not forget that. Looking forward to Wilmot Saturday night!

Mock went after one of the Uttechs while he was on the scale at Manitowoc if that is what everyone is referring to.

On foot, had to be pulled away from Uttechs car by another driver that walked over there.

Then I'm not that upset. Not something I would recommend, but not suspension or fine worthy, IMO.

Do some of you guys really want guys suspended? I know I don't, I want to see every car possible race as a fan. Unless you want them suspended cuz they might beat "your guy". I was there and saw the 5j incident, remind yourselfs these are sprint cars and it was being pushed by a truck....maybe the push truck driver was going too fast and he couldn't stop. HAHA I'M JOKING. I just don't think it was that big of deal compared to some things I've seen in 25 years of dirt track racing. The last thing I want to see is someone suspended, I've seen some that where warranted and some that weren't.JMO

Most people wanna see every car on the track, but in this day and age officals need to take incidents very seriously. Sprint car racing doesn't need anymore bad press because some hothead accidently runs over someone working on a car in the work or pit area because they are pissed at another driver. Emotions will always run high in motorsports but if it takes parking a guy for a week makes him think twice before doing something then I'm all for it.

If somebody endagers me or my family, hell yes I want them suspended!! what an idiotic point to even try to make... I will take peoples safety over what I "want to see", anyday! And no, noone is even remotely "afraid" of the 5j beating their driver and thats why they want to see him punished. That was even dumber than the point you tried to make before that. If you've ever been to AP, and I am sure you have, that is an extremely congested and tight area with 4 wheelers, cars pitting and cars flying in both under power and being pushed. Seeking out and hitting cars in anger is just straight up dangerous and stupid.

I understand your points, and phantoms. It just seems most of the suspensions suggesters are just "head hunting". I feel the punishment he got was warranted and fair and inline with what I've seen at other tracks and divisions. The last thing I want is someone hurt. I'm sure the 5j will be watched a bit closer for awhile because of it. AP puts on a great show haven't missed one yet and don't plan to. have fun guys.
