If they cost what an American car cost no one would run them.

I too like Kraig. Spent a couple of hours talking to him a few years back and he's a good kid. If he is indeed trying to run it himself, that's the problem. His dad just drove for Karl for all those years and I'll bet someone pretty much ran the team for Steve when he went on his own. Tough to do. Look at the success Steve had compared to Sammy. Sammy ran his deal and served as crew chief, too. Sammy is smart enough to do it but it seems like it takes away from his being able to just drive, Kraig doesn't have nearly the experience Sammy does so imagine how hard that would be. Again, IF he is trying to call the shots himself, or even run the business side himself, it all takes away from concentrating on driving.

I've said for many years, as good as Sammy was, he sometimes got in his own way because he seemed to need to control everything. Once at Husets, the hauler got stuck getting into the infield to unload, and rather than let the crew do it, Sammy was right there. He missed the drivers meeting and had to suffer the consequences. As for Steve, he admitted in an interview that was done in his motel room, that Karl was one of his heros, because it was Karl working in the hot sun setting up the car. Saw Karl working on the car many times with Steve no where to be seen. Wolfgang on the other hand, relied on his crew to do much of the work, but Doug was usually right there working with them and making joint decisions. Doug is one of the few that could do it all, but didn't get in his own way becauses of that.

Because it's the truth.

If they had to charge $3,094 instead of $1,850 no one would buy them.

Which makes an awful lot of people completely full of shit.

Yeah right, everyone wants the chinese one's because they are cheap/free. No one is paying $3000 for their USA built cars. Some good teams might be running them instead on a deal but no one is paying $3000. http://www.triplexraceparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=SC-CH-1000-CUST

Nobody would run them even for free if they didn't win. You can not change the fact that teams win with xxx chassis. If I built OSWALD chassis and gave them away for free but nobody could make them work, nobody would use them. Xxx seem to work real well especialy in Pa. Fact! If they didn't no one would use them regardless of cost!
