Everyone seems to agree that Schatz is easily the best now, but quibbling if he's better than Kinser in his prime. No way of knowing without a time machine...
Winning Knoxville from B Main & then 21st in A? Nobody's done that...... a whole season with no DNFs? Has anyone else done that? (don't know) How would Babe Ruth do against Nolan Ryan?????

Babe Ruth would no doubt get smoked by Nolan Ryan.

You make some good points and I can't argue with that. I think we agree on the main point and that is that Donny is hands down the best of this era. One thing though, to be fair, Donny was winning convincingly as well before he joined TSR.

You're right about Donny having been a winner before TSR.....that's why Tony hired him :)

Donny did have 50 laps with a working red to get the job done from the B at the Nationals, not taking away from that feat....Steve won the Nationals from quite a ways back one year with just 30 laps, and no red flag for a re-tune. Wolfgang went through the alphabet two out of three years to finish fifth in the Nationals...that in itself also ranks with the greatest feats at the Nationals. As for Ruth against Nolan, poor comparison....and old Kinser did race against Schatz, and did pretty decent until he got past about age 55.

Linbob,
Donny was on and loyal to Afco shocks in the year 2007 and prior.
Pro shocks and other brands have been used after he was already with TSR.
Warner was already a TSR employee during 2007( he started the year at KKR- released during the year), he was instrumental in getting Donny to TSR.
