Yeah, ol' Sam just ain't worth a darn. I guess that's why his phone keeps ringing. His peers are wanting him and that says it all right there.

That's exactly what I was refferring to. He took out McMahan and darrah in the same heat race. And last Wednesday he was throwing dirty sliders at Shane Stewart. Go watch the video on jack slash if you don't believe me.

The one with McMahan was blatant, but I didn't really think the one with Darrah was as much his fault.   I also remember him taking out Sides on the back straight a few years ago out.   I can't remember exactly where that was, I just remember Sammy taking him out and then Sides ripping plug wires out of Sammy's car.

yeah I remember the heat race at Charlotte when darrah wished it was more like hockey. Bet that would have turned out well for him.  And that was several years ago. Not saying every move has been clean, but who can really say that. You're referencing one heat race that happened several years ago.  he must still be worth something to the guys that actually race if they are wanting to put him in a car. Just saying. We could go back and forth showing dirty slide jobs of pretty much anyone that races. So what's the point. If this is in fact true that he will be driving for CJB I highly doubt that they are going to put someone in a sister car that Paul doesn't like. What's the point anyway.  I'm sure I'll get a bunch of dumbass responses on this too.

I really don't give a rat's ass either way about Sammy.   I'm actually looking forward to seeing him in a car that might be competitive at Knoxville.  It will be interesting to see what he does there.   I consider myself neutral on Sammy, he has much good and some bad to him.   I was just pointing out that there are reasons some people on here don't like him.

A Sammy Fan would say that.

So you're saying of more than 3 decades Madsen is the dirtiest driver b/c he raced Sammy hard a few times?! If it was the other way around it would be considered a racing deal.

Wow you are so jealous of Tyler Walker you just cant stop posting about him. Its funny that you never deny how dirty Sammy has been you just keep tossing out names of guys that you say are dirtier, your not a lawyer are you?  I could care less about Sammy, I think its great if Barry jackson thinks Sammy can help he and Paul get faster and make the team better, big whoop, Good for Sammy good for CJB, what is everyone arguing about again? oh thats right is Sammy and has Sammy been a dirty prick on the race track over his career? That would be a YES, even the biggest Sammy seat sniffers have to agree with that.

Seems like it.  Wishy washy.  Got tiring after awhile.  In reading some of these posts, it seems some have the same problem.  They both accomplished some very good things, and they both are known for being DICKS at times.  I never met Favre, but if his personality is anything like Sammy's, I'd consider him a 'Dick' too.....

Guy is just trying to make a living just like you and me. If I owned a business and could hire a guy with tons of experience to better my business it's a no brainer. My father is a huge sammy fan. Myself I have much respect for the guy. I think it's a good move!

You show me a driver who's never done something even the least bit dirty and I'll show you a driver who's never won a race. Even the cleanest drivers have ruffled a few feathers at one point or another. Sprint car racing is intense and sometimes that intensity can cause incidents. I'm not a Sammy fan but I respect the hell out of him. You couldn't find a better guy to fill this role with CJB Motorsports. Very few drivers are as smart and knowledgeable about all aspects of sprint car racing as Sammy is. He's as good of a crew chief as his is a driver and the feedback he'll give them will no doubt help make the 51 team better. Just like it will with Jason Johnson's team.

well said, and from a non Sammy fan.  Wish there were more people like you. I grew up a Sammy fan because my dad was a Sammy fan and I've been going to sprint car races for over 30 years now. Have seen crowds throw beer cans at him from the stands And crazy stuff like that.  I never cared for Kinser, but I wouldn't ever say anything bad, because without him, Sammy, Wolfgang, there wouldn't be anything to talk about. People get so riled up over Tyler walker, posse vs. the outlaws, and anytime anything having to do with swindell it will have people coming out of the woodwork to with bash or praise. That being said, the fact that you're not a Sammy fan, and still recognize what he is, definitely gained my respect.

With everything he knows as a crew chief, he has been out to lunch for at least the last two years because he couldn't hook it up and get any speed on dry slick.    We'll see what he does with CJB, but if he gets any success with that team it will be because they were already running at the front with McMahon anyway.    They have been winning races the last couple of years, Sammy largely has been an also ran.    He will be in good equipment, but he was in good equipment with Quiring too.    I'm not saying he won't improve his own situation here, I just really don't see how he's going to improve there's.

To me there's a reason why Sammy couldn't get out of the C a couple of years, yet Kevin seems to be competitive just jumping into the Indy Race Parts Car?   Based on that, tell me how much Sammy can help them?

Honestly though, if he runs well more power to him.   Maybe he'll outrun Schatz and win his 2nd this year?   Can't say I wouldn't welcome someone else in victory lane....

Kevin Eckert perfectly captured why many don't like the Swindells in his Chili Bowl column.  From Sprintcarstats.com

"On the opposite end of the human spectrum, we had Swindells ramming and swerving at anyone who dared brush them. Demon seed reached second but Abreu’s ability through traffic gave Kevin no chance. Bryan Clauson, Larson and Daryn Pittman were all faster than Tennessee Tantrums. Kevin should have been happy with second. But there was just an annual complaint about “somebody else's mistake” digging a hole on lap 1 of 50. Dad topped Kyle by going D-C-B-A in prelim, jacked with Tanner Thorson after final B, hammered Thorson under A-main caution laps (never did pass him) then was wheeled by Larson in return.

After the race, Sammy charged the podium. He had no congratulations for his son because Swindells never celebrate second-place even when 325 cars do worse. No, he confronted Kyle for punting him off a teammate. Larson was too happy for Rico to regard Sammy with little more than sad laugh until later when he tweeted about it. Some who were critical may not have known how Swindell went off last year. He screamed at Kaitlyn Sweet (mother of Kyle’s new son) until she cried.

Swindell’s sense of entitlement runs deep. Sammy and estranged wife Amy are insanely jealous of accolades leveled at Larson in the sad belief that only cruel fate or false propaganda has kept Kevin from such prosperity. Truth is that despite the boy’s obvious talent, Amy allowed Kevin to grow into a dickhead just like the one she married. Most teams want none of those Swindells hanging around. Likely end to his 35-year relationship put Slammin’ Sam in state of rage long before Chili Bowl. Last summer, he feigned retirement. In reality, Todd Quiring shit-canned him. So retire already. Go polish some 600 trophies. Anyone with such contempt for their fellow racers should not wish to remain one.

Some say Swindells are just the villains needed to bring Chili Bowl to a boil. I call bullshit. Chili Bowl sells out long before anyone knows who will race. Within seconds, rational race fans would replace sheep in Swindell clothing. Chili Bowl is bigger than the stars who race in it. Wheel-to-wheel intensity is so high that it will never be without fans. But these two assholes are spoiling the year’s best party.

Put yourself in Tanner Thorson’s shoes. First off, you share trailer with three of the great talents in ten years. Abreu, Larson and Bell are almost expected to win. You are not. You were first in heat and fourth in prelim feature but had to win B, so another tough 20 laps stood between Big Show. But you make it. You transfer. Then some angry old man won’t let you up the ramp. You take an extra lap slowing for people crossing track. In the final 50, you slog up into Top Five. Caution comes out. Time to compose yourself for Big Restart. But what’s this? There’s that cranky bastard trying to flatten your tire! Why does the oldest, most accomplished racer in the building annually act like an infant?"

On a positive note the Chilli Bowl what's the odds that that is in the hands of Tony Stewart in a hand full of years?

Hopefully pretty high.  It couldn't go to better hands.  Him being involved last year was a good sign.
